China's Flag Rises Without a Flap
LAtimes ^ | April 25, 2005 | Jia-Rui Chong

A crowd of people loyal to the People's Republic of China raised split-finger victory signs as their one red-and-gold flag found a home on a small lane. "I feel real proud," said David Lee, 85 When Lee and others tried to raise the mainland Chinese flag in the same location about 20 years ago, an angry group of anti-communists tore it down and burned it.

More than 100 people gathered to watch the flag rise to the strains of "The March of the Volunteers," the Chinese national anthem.

Many had come from a demonstration in front of the Japanese Embassy, where demonstrators asked the Japanese government to apologize for brutality in China during World War II and to reject new history books that gloss over those actions.

Peter Lau, who heads the group that organized the flag-raising, the China Unity Assn. of Greater Los Angeles, and who also marched in the anti-Japan rally, said it was a sign of growing Chinese nationalism.

Raising the flag, in particular, "shows Chinese people overseas are getting stronger," Lau said . "More people are thinking about the changing of China." "People who live here want to keep the tradition they've had for 80 years," he said. "It's not easy to change that in one day."

"Certain elements in Taiwan want their own flag, a green flag," Loo said. "If there's no green flag, there's no conflict."

But Li Jin, 24, said it troubles her to see so many blue-and-red flags flying prominently in Chinatown. The Beijing nativeread with emphasis the words on the red banners flying high above the new flag: "United China" and "Against the secession of Taiwan."

"When I see the KMT [Kuomintang] flag, I feel very sad," she said. "They are not a country."

Meanwhile just reported today by the Cardinal Kung Foundation, communist Chinese internal security police arrested a few weeks ago close to a dozen priests for no reason.

If these Chinese want to fly the communist flag so much send their a**es back to the mainland. Where will their loyalties be if and when we go to war with China?

Reality hitting against the anti-rational fascist thinking of this erstwhile commie. I've seen it numerous times in people from the PRC. It is a little shocking the first couple times but after that you begin to recognize it for what it is.

I'll make it a point to spit on the spot where that flag is the next time I'm in Los Angeles Chinatown. I have no problem with flying the flag of the ROC - they were a WWII ally and Taiwan today is democracy and friend of the U.S. The PRC on the other hand is a dictatorship and at best a competitor and more realistically an outright enemy of the U.S. Flying the flag of the PRC now is like flying the flag of the USSR during the cold war.

Ya Bob we all know about the inhumane activities of the Chinese police ,don't we?this is nothing new.

But what alarms me is the growing no. of chinese commies in america. So far little attention has been paid on this very important issue .So far the only attention has been on the growing no. of islamists and radicals from middle east residing in this country and the threat they pose to america. But the chinese pose an equal if not greater threat to america!!
The chinese americans are engaging in spying against american companies and sending back their country vital information relating to missiles , planes ,sonars to name a few. What's
worse is the fact that many of these stolen technologies are now making thier way into the hands of despotic regimes like those of north korea, iran and so on.
The United States faces a growing threat from Chinese organized crime groups engaged in heroin trafficking, credit card fraud, and software piracy.
The official chinese govt. policy seems to be to encourage and assist more no. of chinese to get into america. That enables them to set up an active intelligence base in this country. Moreover the growing no. of chinese and their increasing economic clout only means that their lobbying power and influence in the US Congress is only going to increase with time thereby influencing american foreign and defence policy .(Note how Bill clinton wanted to sell missiles and advanted military satellites to china and John kerry saw china as a strategic ally rather than a threat!!!!)
The chinese policy is to destroy america from within. As Tsun-Tsu once said -" If the enemy (in the present case america) is more powerful than you, then the only way to destroy it is from within.
So the bottom line is that these slit -eyed commie pests residing in america are at best a storage problem and worst a grave national security risk!!!

"Where will their loyalties be if and when we go to war with China?"

I assume that is a rhetorical question. If open conflict does come to pass, which seems reasonably likely in my opinion, I suspect we will see a lot of internal sabotage.

Your absolutely right about that. Now we can assume the same about the loyalty of illegal Mexicans if we were to have a confrontation with Mexico.

Yeah and once that happens you will see americans rise against them and kick their little butts. Well maybe anyway.
If the US citizens see their precious chinese goods go up in price they may ask the US to surrender.

Lots of free traitors on this site see no problem with our hi-tech companies sending factories to china everyday.

Well, I see China as a more serious issue since we are MUCH more likely to have a serious conflict with China than with Mexico. Moreoever, while most illegal Mexican workers are doing manual labor, many Chinese are working in high security areas where they have access to vital infrastructure and information. This is especially true of younger Chinese - they are the ones that are at the forefront of the surging patriotic movement in China and they are also very well positioned to carry out internal sabatoge in the U.S. because their advanced degrees have enabled them to gain sensitive positions in banking, telecommunications, high-tech, research, finance, and so on.

Yes, and what we have recently seen happen in the PRC regarding Japan could very easily happen with America. In fact it is almost certain. The Japanese textbook issue was merely an excuse, in reality this is just a manifestation of the aggressive nationalism, directed against the West and in particular America, that the PRC has been fostering since the early 1990's. Japan, being America's main ally in the region and one of the primary locations from which we project our power there, was a convenient target with the history book issue providing text pretext. But it is clear from the rhetoric from the Chinese students that this is not just about history textbooks. The real motivations have been somewhat obscured, however the fact that America is the ultimate target will become more evident over time.

I agree but it won't happen until more of our capital and technology know how is drained. When the US is then a dried up old whore with no more benefit the communist will then make us a scapegoat of some sort.

I agree. I would think that some imagined slights from the Korean War would be their excuse, although of course any imagined insult to the Middle Kingdom would do.

I noticed that also. All the ones I talked to (about 4) believe the PRC propaganda.

"Where will their loyalties be if and when we go to war with China?"

I think we already know the answer to that question.

Our careless attitude about just who and how many of these people we allow into our country is going to bite us hard some day.

Communist China is useless. Anyone who supports or defends anything they have ever done is brainwashed and/or a Communist.

I agree with your views.
China is the real rogue state. All the rogue states on earth - be it iran ,north korea, pakistan exist due to chinese support.Infact n.korea and pakistan are nuclear states today because of china. China continues to supply these countries countries advanced missile technology with which they can attack US and its allies!!! Infact china is the mother of all rogue states.
Infact chinese intelligence is arming iraqi insurgents so that they keep the americans engaged in iraq and it gives them enough time to "become a superpower ??" and take on america.
China is actively engaged in brainwashing people throughout the world( mostly europe) through its fellow commies planted in the media.
I fully agree with you avenger that - the Japanese textbook issue was merely an excuse, in reality this is just a manifestation of the aggressive nationalism, directed against the West and in particular America.
It is ample clear from the above facts that the socaleed "peaceful rise of china" slogan put forth by the chinese leadership is already proving to be hollow!!!!
its high time the world stops cozying upwith china and gives it the treatment it deserves----economic sanctions and international isolation till it makes adequate progress towards democracy and human rights and treats its neighbours with the respect they deserve.!!!!
AND even more importantly put a stop to the commie and leftist scum infesting america!!!!

When Lee and others tried to raise the mainland Chinese flag in the same location about 20 years ago, an angry group of anti-communists tore it down and burned it.

No doubt because the leftists have been brainwashing the populace that the PRC is our "friend."
