The Canadian identity for the last 25 years was: "We are not America!". In that vane, they've gotten a failed socialist health care program, overpriced gasoline, an impotent (practically nonexistent) military, a huge influx of Muslims that are new trying to take over their justice system, and they can't even have a hockey season.
Wow - all that so as not to be identified as America-like.
I have a message to our brothers to the North. Come in from the cold. Send your Muzzies to Quebec, but have all of your other provinces join the United States. The winters are really nice here (in the south), and this country has a huge amount to offer you - starting with a job.

That would work, with regional opt-out clauses if remote regions of Quebec do not want to go separate and instead want to join the Union.

No, thanks. I already have a good job, and I have no desire to abandon one messed up federal system just to joing another that respects neither its own constitution or the right's of its states. I'd rather fix our system and remain a Canadian, as I was born and as my ancestors fought and died. Is that too hard to understand?
