I have to say I was really disappointed in last night's episode, perhaps because the trailers they had made it seem like something BIG was going to happen, perhaps Shane getting "offed."
I didn't get that impression from the trailers for yesterday's episode, but the preview clips of next Tuesday's episode does make it seem like something important will happen. I think Shane will get busted, and eventually he'll get immunity for what he and Army did by giving Aceveda dirt on Mackey, further compounding his problems.
There is one thing I do not like about the Shield, though, and it is that they seem to just "forget" characters and lines. For ex., what the hell happened to Tevon?? and what about Shane's wife? She was the whole reason he screwed up with the strike team, now she doesn't even appear. Ditto Dutch's love interest from last year.
Honestly, I haven't been watching too long. I picked it up starting this season: the first episode I sat down and watched was the one where Rawling's Polaroid cameras arrive, and there's some joking about the broken men's bathroom.

Totally agree. 24 can be hit or miss, but the Shield is consistently superb. Just a great show.

Meanwhile, I AM managing to follow Vic Mackey and the Shield. Best show on TV gets better every week. I hope they nail the snake Aceveda and his whore on one of their car-cams!

I was on the edge of my chair, yelling, "You go, Girl!" I was saying "Jeez... Ya got him already! You can stop shooting." I half expected her to reload and empty a second magazine into the goblin.

what about Shane's wife? She was the whole reason he screwed up with the strike team, now she doesn't even appear. She DID appear, saying how much cash Shane was bringing in.

. . .they have 50 seconds to access encrypted data, to break a password, to get files downloaded or whatever and it always works. When in reality, I get on the computer to do something thinking it will be a 15 minute job and I'm there for two hours with nothing working.Obviously, that's why CTU hasn't hired you!

"Chloe rocks!"
Hmm, maybe its because I just started watching the show but my first impressions of Chloe are:
1. She's an overbearing B****.
2. She's annoying.
3. She has no idea on how to hold a rifle.
Maybe she will grow on me.

RUSH: Oh man, did you see this show last night? Folks, this was so great! Let me just tell you what happened up to date, and I know some of the future things that are going to happen because I was out there a week ago and watched them film some scenes. I always was of the opinion that this guy dealt in fantasy most of the time.
The soap opera crowd eats it up, I guess.

I've missed recent episodes but I always thought Chloe was a babe. Her downcast looks. Not looking people in the eye. Her face says she lives in pain and has things going on. That's her appeal, the wounded bird that the right guy would make happy

Thats cuz she is good at what she does and she knows it and Jack trust her above all things and anybody. Her character is one of integrity and loyalty and like the typical woman speaks her mind. I guess that makes her a wonderful B&*$@.

she nearly cut that prick in half didn't she?
NICE.

Thanks. And, great phrasing--I wish I was that eloquent!
The only things I don't like about The Shield is the sometimes-jittery editing--it seems like the show is in fast-forward once in a while. Some of the manual camerawork is pretty bad, and makes it seem more like a reality show than a filmed series. But sometimes they manage to turn those flaws into assets, depending on the scene in question, so I can't hit them too hard for it.
Can't wait for next Tuesday. That episode's going to be something else.

And yet you clicked on this thread and took the time to tell us how much you don't care. Well, you never know just when the soap opera crowd will begin being chastize severely for their perversion of political debate. I would not want to miss that.
