John R. Bolton's nomination to be U.S. ambassador to the United Nations sent shivers through the 191-member organization and the international community. All were stunned at the choice of a man whose unilateralist and unrealistic attitudes toward international issues have made the world a less safe place.
His nomination appeared more appalling since the Bush administration had previously announced it planned to repair its image, which had suffered greatly due to the scandal-hit invasion of Iraq launched under the guidance of hawks like Bolton and other officials who Nelson Mandela once called the dinosaurs surrounding Bush.

If Tehran is opposed to Bolton, he's the perfect man for the job.
Sen. Voinovich's next official statement: "I had planned on voting for Bolton, but a recent article in the Tehran Times brought out some new data. I'm no longer comfortable with this nomination."
ROTF!!! The Dems and the mullahs are on the same side. Go figure.
One more reason to support Bolton.

If Tehran is opposed to Bolton, he's the perfect man for the job.

Sounds like Hitler's response when Churchill got the job of PM.
pong
We all know the U.N. is irrelevant, but perception is everything in the "international community" that the liberals like John F'n love so much.
If we're going to have to participate in the sham, I'd at least love to send someone who pisses terrorists (and liberals, as if there's a difference) off -- and Bolton's perfect.
Isn't that an intoxicating Japanese drink?
There's a country we want to listen to...../sarcasm
