If you're on defense you can't be on offense. WE are on offense. THEY are on defense. We are winning. They are losing. Stories like this clearly demonstrate this truth.

More calcium for the church's backbone! I would like to see more "visible" catholics do this.

"Clinton is a strident advocate of legalized abortion, speaking at gatherings of abortion-rights advocates and voting against a ban on partial-birth abortion. She also has advocated expanding embryonic stem cell research and has declared contraception 'basic health care for women.'"
File that away for later use, Freepers. We've GOT to make sure this hag never sets foot again in The White House. (I wish there were some way to ban her presence there forever, even as a tourist!)

Well, this is a good place for the new Pope to come down hard on. I know there are Catholic Universities that are "very" Catholic in their identity such as Steubenville. If Fordham, Georgetown, Loyola, Marquette and Notre Dame (among many) were even half as Catholic as Steubenville it would be ok. It makes you wonder why the Church is in the education business at the university if they're not using their institutions to strengthen those young Catholics in the faith.

Marymount Manhattan College:
Catholic Student Alliance
Our aim is to create a safe, nurturing, and supportive atmosphere for students of the college to interact with others with strong faith. The Alliance welcomes students of all religious backgrounds (not merely Catholicism) to explore and strengthen their personal views through community service, field trips, events and discussions. These events held throughout the year assist in building bonds within a familiar community.

What do you want to bet that they have a liberal Catholic as an advisor?

The "Benedict XVI effect" has begun. The Newman Society now feels emboldened to take action, with support from the Holy Father. This may become contagious :-)

Sr. Margaret Farley, professor of Christian ethics at Yale University Divinity School and past president of the Catholic Theological Society of America.
According to her bio she doesn't claim to be a Nun. But
here in 2001 she claims:
Margaret Farley has been a member of the Religious Sisters of Mercy since 1959. Based on her resume I would say she has pretty much excommunicated herself. Other bio info
is here

I am watching O'Reilly. Did I miss Reilly? I have not seen him. Hope he is still coming up, only 15 min. left.
This is great news - and about time!

It's about time the Bishops flexed some muscle.
The more they flex, the bigger the muscle will grow.
There ARE absolutes. And it's past time those in authority stood up and proclaimed the truth!
My opinion of the American Bishops has jumped up a notch or two.
