All around the Western world one trend stands clear. Once formerly great bastions of capitalism and democracy that turned from their roots and embraced socialism (read communism light) are steadily failing under their own weight. Canada, Germany, France, and the list goes on and on.

Martin looked all too much like Nixon in his address to the nation...I kept expecting him to sday "I'm not a crook" LOL

However our unprincipled socialist party the NDP has sold their political support to Martin for budgetary concessions to big government social[ist] spending to prop up the Liberal party's minority govt against a Conservative no-confidence vote that would force a June election...

Apparently the NDP position is tantamount to 'we dont care if Martin is an obvious crook whose party's money laundering kickback shenanigans include possible ties between Adscam and the Mafia and the corrupt Oil For Food debacle and god knows what more...as long as we can wh0re ourselves for our pet social[ist] programs we're happy and they can be as crooked as they want skimming from the public purse'...

And of course the Liberals are happy to give the NDP whatever they want to stay in power...afterall its not THEIR money they are buying off the NDP with its the same money the've been ripping off for their party coffers...OURS...

>:-(

A pox on both their houses...>>>:-(((

1991's Quick and Dirty Guide to War, and its one subsequent update, remains one of the most edifying reads out there.

I'm torn on this subject. While a balkanized Canada would solve many things, it would also complicate North American politics and economics immensely. And I'm not sure bringing socialist-conditioned Canadian provinces into the US would help our politics any.

Besides, if Canada hangs together and their "socialist paradise" implodes, we'll see firsthand exactly what would happen to us if the liberal Democrats got their way.

I guess the bottom line is that I don't wish them any ill will, but I also don't want my children and grandchildren paying for the mistakes of Canadians.

What remains of Canada could, if they liked, further prostitute themselves and permit US enemies to establish bases in Canada. Canadians can formalize the moral capitulation they have already made and of which continue to boast to finally cash in on the open contempt they have for their generous and benign US neighbors. It would not be smart, but they could do that. In fact, I am surprised that Mexico has not yet done this, AGAIN..... (because remember, Mexico invited the French to help them with their previous territorial aspirations in N. America.)
