Diversity under stress
Waterville Morning Sentinel ^ | Sunday, April 24, 2005 | By CHUIN-WEI YAP

Near midnight one day last December, someone threw a chair against the window of the Students Organized For Black And Hispanic Unity office at Colby College.

In March, University of Colorado President Betsy Hoffman resigned, in part for defending a professor whose views on the Sept. 11 attacks included describing its victims as "Little Eichmanns" (a reference to the technocrats of Nazism).

A story on bad behavior at Colby College and then this little parenthetical account of Adolf Eichmann.

I cannot believe anyone in journalism would call Eichmann a "technocrat".

Threw a chair against the window, not through? And why is this revelent to the story? I mean, seeing as this happened, what?, four or five months ago?

It was included to establish, first and foremost, ongoing racism against minorities. I can see that your education isn't finished yet. Will you be going to the re-education camps this summer?

It was a story on how diversity is under stress at Colby College. Then as I read it I get to the Eichmann comment.

I cannot believe that anyone upset over diversity would not be outraged at calling dead people little Eichmanns. But I suppose if he was just a Technocrat it is understandable

Yeah, it is not as though pies at being thrown at liberal/minority "rights" speakers, that liberal/minority "rights" speakers are being threatened and that liberal/minority professors (that make up 90% of the faculty) are being thrown out for their political views (as opposed to conservative professors)

Diversity is an absurdity.

There is no empirical information (that is not a lie) that even HINTS that there is any benefit whatsoever to "diversity".

If you read the article Colby College is working hard to get a more diverse campus. Apparently some are not so thrilled and are posting rude and nasty comments about it.

But the college insists on pushing one viewpoint.

My biggest problem is the journalist and the idiocy of calling a mass murderer a "Technocrat"

Yeah, it kind of rambles, doesn't it? Guess there wasn't a real good story there, but the reporter had to show something for the meals allowance, or something.

But why?

What good can come of it? None.

IIRC: This "reporter" was here on a visa that did not allow her to work. She was sent away when she was caught writing for the paper and getting expense money.

Now she is back. She is diversity in media.

Are you guessing, or do you know? Anyway, the writer should have taken some journalism courses when she was here before, it might have helped.

Lets see...

I am a liberal college... I am in need to show my good... I will diversify and push my ideals.

not quite: I think; therefor I am. But the best I can come up with for the college.

The Colby glossy brochure that is sent out to high school candidates advertises the fact that its Muslim students have their own place to worship. Made me gag when I read it.

...that has been the hidden face of rising diversity.

Anyone who wants to talk about the "hidden face of rising diversity" need only take a look to Holland and how the Dutch are handling their diversity - multiculturalism - "problem" with muslim immigrants.

Throwing a chair against a window is nothing compared to getting one's throat slit on a city street in braod daylight by "diverse" immigrants.
