Most modern equipment in civilian use is far less subsceptible to EMP destruction than prior generations. For example, most EFI cars, when subjected to EMP, will suffer no damage due to the Faraday cage effect of their metal computer housings, and will only need to be rebooted.

Is that enough for the whole car to run, though?

I didn't know that about current cars. It makes me feel a bit better. Thanks!

Good thing I use a metal computer case for my PC.
