We track every ship from every port in the world. We know where they stop and watch what they do. So the odds of not knowing is slim.
But if we didn't know we'd take out Iran and North Korea. As a country we have to respond, and nailing these two up an comers in the nuclear age saves us some problems later. If you are going to be wrong, at least gain the most advantage you can from being wrong.

There is no bomb that could wipe out the U.S. in one application. Maybe these idiots should lay off the hash
pipe.

Why would Iran actually launch a first strike by missile against the USA? The only possible logic I can imagine is if they, or someone else, thought they could do it without being fingered for it.
But that's take a high risk that the public pressure wouldn't be such that we'd take them out anyway.

For example, most EFI cars, when subjected to EMP, will suffer no damage due to the Faraday cage effect of their metal computer housings, and will only need to be rebooted.
- But can you imagine the cost to reboot every computer in the country?
- What good is having even a rebooted car if all the gas pumps are down?

you mean like windows os requires, every time a new virus comes out?
the danger implied in this hand wringing article is WAY overblown.

So happy to see someone is giving this serious thought. Been worrying me since I found out about Iran's missle program (N. Korea, then China, then Russia - now they have working missles).

Meanwhile Sec. of State Condi Rice is talking about UN sanctions against Iran. Sound familiar? Is the hair on the back of your neck standing up yet?

Is the hair on the back of your neck standing up yet?It was after watching the Fox News special last night about Iran nukes. Even Biden admitted that the military option should be on the table.
To: Lurker
The EMP threat from Iran is greatly exaggerated.I just hope the mullahs know that :)

I'd like someone to explain to my WHY Joseph Farah has a "defense and intelligence newsletter" and why he's remotely qualified to do one that people actually pay for.
