Proverbs 24: 3-6
By wisdom a house is built,
and through understanding it is established;
through knowledge its rooms are filled
with rare and beautiful treasures.
A wise man has great power,
and a man of knowledge increases strength;
for waging war you need guidance,
and for victory many advisers.
Holy is Your Name. We praise You for who You are: the great I AM. We thank You for being our God and for reaching down to us each day through our prayers. We are Your people and the sheep of your pasture. We know that You are with us and that You do answer our prayers, for Your Word tells us of Your faithfulness and Your truth to all generations. We proclaim Jesus Christ as our Savior and King, and we offer these prayers in His Holy Name.
Father, on this wonderful Lords Day, we pray for freedom for the worlds people, and we ask that all would be able to live the kind of lives You want us to live. We pray that children would be taught love instead of hate. Most of all, we pray that they would be taught about our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Thank You for the discerning spirit and the wisdom of Jesus Christ that You are giving President Bush regarding every situation he faces. Enable the hearts of those who advise him to be filled with Your understanding and Your truth. Please give him the words to present his positions and beliefs in a manner that glorifies You alone. Provide him Your vision for America, Lord, and allow him to gain support for his proposals. Grant him Your wonderful peace and rest this weekend, Father, and help him to spend time alone with You. May he continue to grow in grace and in knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Father, we pray for a strong revelation of truth to be sent to our judges in this nation, as well as our legislators. Convict their hearts to make choices that honor You. Stir them to support the Constitution of the United States, for it was formed from Your truths and Your laws. Help all of our elected officials to know that neither Your Word nor You ever change, for You are the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Shelter our military men and women, Lord. Place in our military leaders Your desires for the Middle East and Your wisdom for helping them to achieve what You want them to do. Preserve the life of every troop from the stealth and trickery of the enemy.
Precious and Holy Father, bring this nation back to You. Raise up more people to pray each day for our country to experience the revival that we so desperately need. Instill in us the desire to "get right with You" as a nation. Let our prayers never cease so that every American has a saving knowledge of Your grace and the assurance of Your salvation. In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Agreeing with your powerful prayer, Faith. To God be the glory!
Lord, send to this, our president many wise advisors - those who will do not tolerate injustice, but also love peace. May this president seek your ways, your mercy, to do your works, and serve you all the days of his life. In turn, Lord, may we be your people - and you be our God. For without your enduring right arm, we shall surely fail. Be thou our vision! Amen.
Oh gracious Father in Heaven, we once again bring prayer and supplication to you on behalf of our dear President and brother in Christ, George Bush. Grant him an extra measure of your grace, mercy and wisdom. Guard him from the fiery darts of the enemy and strengthen his resolve. May he always seek your will for his life and for the direction of our country. In Jesus name.
Thanks for joining us at the Throne of Grace, kayak!
Amen to your prayer, annie! God bless you.
Agreeing with you in prayer, bella1. Thank you.
AMEN FAITH AND AMEN ALL!
GRACE TO ALL BRETHREN!
"And because of all this we make a sure covenant."
- Nehemiah 9:38
There are many occasions in our experience when we may very rightly, and
with benefit, renew our covenant with God. After recovery from sickness
when, like Hezekiah, we have had a new term of years added to our life, we
may fitly do it. After any deliverance from trouble, when our joys bud
forth anew, let us again visit the foot of the cross, and renew our
consecration. Especially, let us do this after any sin which has grieved
the Holy Spirit, or brought dishonour upon the cause of God; let us then
look to that blood which can make us whiter than snow, and again offer
ourselves unto the Lord. We should not only let our troubles confirm our
dedication to God, but our prosperity should do the same. If we ever meet
with occasions which deserve to be called "crowning mercies" then, surely,
if he hath crowned us, we ought also to crown our God; let us bring forth
anew all the jewels of the divine regalia which have been stored in the
jewel-closet of our heart, and let our God sit upon the throne of our
love, arrayed in royal apparel. If we would learn to profit by our
prosperity, we should not need so much adversity. If we would gather from
a kiss all the good it might confer upon us, we should not so often smart
under the rod. Have we lately received some blessing which we little
expected? Has the Lord put our feet in a large room? Can we sing of
mercies multiplied? Then this is the day to put our hand upon the horns of
the altar, and say, "Bind me here, my God; bind me here with cords, even
for ever.
" Inasmuch as we need the fulfilment of new promises from God, let us
offer renewed prayers that our old vows may not be dishonoured.
Let us this morning make with him a sure covenant, because of the pains
of Jesus which for the last month we have been considering with gratitude.
C.H.SPURGEON
Lord,
Teach me the nature of a sacrament
as a seal and pledge of love,
that Christ is faithful to make himself
a present reality to his own who are guests
at his table.
Assure me by it
that his Word is made good to my faith,
that he by sacramental union is given to me,
that I shall have strength not to fall into sin,
that his life begun in me will be perfected
hereafter,
that my covenant with him is confirmed,
that he gives himself to all who take him
thankfully.
As I come to the feast, help me to recall
my neglect of duties towards myself,
my family, church, friends,
by not instructing, exhorting, being
an example.
Grant me to see my ignorance,
not knowing how or what to pray,
my unsavouriness, not delighting in,
but loathing to speak for thee,
my pride, because I would not speak
what I could from fear of not doing it well,
my lukewarmness, in not reaching for thy glory,
my idleness and sloth,
my want of tender love,
my apprehension of unfruitfulness
in case I should attempt and do no good,
and hence sow seed upon rocks.
Let me know
that even if I have done right, yet I must
lament the principles that caused my neglect,
that good duties might be done or omitted
out of ill principles or motives,
and only when these are dealt with shall
I know what is my duty and its extent.
Heal me now, as I approach thy table,
and fill me with all grace, with thyself.
A PURITANS PRAYER!
SOLI DEO GLORIA!
Praying your Beautiful Prayer with you, sister Faith. We Exalt You, Lord Jesus!
"May the Sacred Heart of Jesus be adored, glorified, loved and preserved throughout the world now and forever Amen."
Amen.
May Jesus Christ be glorified in our President and his administration. Let all see and know that he is blessed and belongs to the Most High. May his uprightness shine like the noon day. We believe Your Word promises that others will be jealous of all that he has because of Your goodness and glory.
Thank You, Lord, for showing Yourself strong on his behalf.
