Missing girl found unharmed

By The Tribune-Review

Saturday, April 23, 2005

Authorities used a telephone call to pinpoint the location Friday of a Mt. Pleasant teenager missing since Monday. Maigyn Rath, 16, of 520 Walnut St., was found unharmed about 9:30 a.m. yesterday at an undisclosed residence in Connellsville Township, Fayette County, according to borough police.

"We got an incoming call, and we traced the phone call," police Officer George Grippo said yesterday afternoon.

"She's fine."

Rath told police that she went away with an unidentified 23-year-old man she met at a borough gasoline station, authorities reported.

Police questioned Rath and reunited her with her family yesterday.

Police also were considering whether to take further action in the case.

The article says she met him at a gas station. I didn't get the impression that she'd known him for long, but I could be mistaken. Maybe that's what she and her mother argued about.

Too many of today's teenage girls are 14 going on 30. Just go to any mall to view the brassy fruit ripe for plucking by local perverts, dirty old men, and hormone-raging young hoods.

These girls' mothers are 30 going on 14 and look the same.

I was speculating. The lack of information in the story is sometimes telling. If it had been a serious crime, many details would usually be provided.

Down here in Florida, in Jacksonville, there was a similar story about a 16 year old girl who was "abducted" from in front of her house, but it turned out she made the whole thing up. Of course, there wasn't much follow-up in the local media to determine the specifics of the case.

Something about contributing to a delinquency of a minor. I mean, that's what that law is for. To keep 21+ or 30+ men from picking up underage girls in a mall or from the streets then taking them to a dinner and a movie.

Or in this case taking them home for …4 days.

I got a better idea: Put the boy in a holding cell with several others and hint he has been boffing a kid.

Then sit back and enjoy the fun.

The age of consent in Pennsylvania is 16.

"Except as provided in section 3121 (relating to rape), a person commits a felony of the second degree when that person engages in sexual intercourse with a complainant under the age of 16 years and that person is four or more years older than the complainant and the complainant and the person are not married to each other."

(Pennsylvania age of consent law)

16 is legal age in PA... no charges can be filed if any activity was consentual.

I have three girls: 16, 12 and 11. Try finding them clothes. Everything is cut so your crack shows and most of the shorts are disgusting too.

Then maybe you could find a seamstress who could modify those extreme lines. they could be "fashionable" but respectful. That way your girls could feel like they are "in" without the bareness. It would seem to me to be worth the money to pay someone who would make something I would approve of as a parent rather than to give to what is on the racks becuase there is nothing else out there. THAT is being a slave to the money making industries. Parents shouldn't let that happen. You set the rules...not the clothing industry.

Well good for you then. It probably DOES take some searching to find decent clothes for your daughters. Good to shop the internet also I would suppose. Good luck in your search. Know you find what you need when you look hard enough. Your daughters are blessed to have you as a parent. You care enough to buy the very best in decency. :) They'll laugh about it later on in life and thank you at the same time. :)
