`I will fight every inch against the death penalty.''

I thought these guys welcomed death (for everyone else, I guess).

He can do plenty of damage preaching to the scum in prisons. This may be his rationale in pleading guilty. Get some years in prison causing even more damage by brainwashing the thugs there.

In Florida the average stay on death row is 12 years. It is similar in the other states, which have capital punishment. McVeigh was captured on April 21,1995 and executed on June 11,2001, i.e., a little more than six years. It is really too bad he wasn't kept alive longer. Perhaps, he could have shed some light on the events of 9/11. Nichols is still alive.

"I don't expect any leniency from the Americans."

Good attitude Mr. Moussaui, I certainly hope you don't get any. This guy better get the needle just as quick as Timothy McVeigh did.

If McVeigh can be executed in record time, this POS should be put to death post haste.

I wish the same, but probably part of his plea deal was no death penalty.

He will probably get life and life in VA means LIFE!

Hanging?

Beheading is what he deserves, with a dull knife.

He will fight the death penalty? Guess he really doesn't believe in that whole martyr/virgin thing.

"He vowed to oppose any U.S. government effort to impose the maximum sentence of the death penalty. "Moussaoui will fight every inch against the death penalty," he said. "I can't expect any leniency from the Americans."

Shoot the SOB!

(moussaoui) is hoping for leniency and a life sentence

I'd say this maniacal scum wants his virgins, would love to a martyr but before that he wants a huge MSM soapbox for decades.

I want him in solitary confinement with only a koran and the Bible, no news in, no news out for the next 100 years. I think that would be the punishment he would fear the most.

Good, now take him out back and put a bullet in his head most ricky tick and then ship his body (drenched in pig blood) back to his filthy country with a warning note stapled to his forehead.

He's hoping to become the next political martyr for the left, a Mumia Abu Jamal for the 21st Century.

What is the likely timespan and time sequence for sentencing and hearings for same? When is this likely to be over? 2, 3, 5 months?

I'm not sure how to read this one. yes, he is definitely linked to this. but this "second wave after 9-11" stuff, did OBL really think that after 9-11, they could pull off the exact same plot again? something is amiss here, I wonder if this guy has given up everything he knows?

I have a bad feeling about this. I think we need a trial; this is just too important to be settled on a basis of "Okay, I did it." I think that Judge Brinkema should have refused the guilty plea. Moussaoui's trial would, if nothing else, provide an opportunity to prove exactly who did what. It may be that he pleaded guilty exactly to prevent that.

Indeed. It's little "known" but it did make the news and now and again comes up that a second wave was sitting in airports around the country waiting to strike.

I'm glad Moussaoui was found and arrested in part thanks to a "head's up" flight school.

"I heard the part about the "second wave" on the radio (Hannity) - but can't find it in print yet."

A planned second wave would certainly explain why the airports were shut down, why the president was kept away from washington, and the sightings/rumors/etc. of strange behaving persons that day.
