Federal Order May Require Mandatory Psych Screening and Medication of School Children By E.F. Winslow 4-22-05

There is a new, invasive government program coming to your state that is so Orwellian that it is seems beyond all belief. It potentially involves the mandatory mental health screening of all children in the state, and could actually mean that minors would be prescribed behavior-modifying drugs in school against their parent’s wishes. And to make the parallel to Orwell complete, the program is called the “New Freedom Commission on Mental Health”. The New Freedom Commission on Mental Health was created in 2002 by Executive Order 13263, but the recommendations and implementation of the program are just being released now. One of the six goals of the Commission was to make “early mental health screening, assessment, and referral to services…common practice”. This seemingly innocuous statement raised eyebrows with some in Congress, and Congressman Ron Paul (R-TX) proposed an amendment that was prevent this bill from requiring mandatory screening and state-ordered medicating of children without parental consent. Last September, his amendment was defeated. He has reintroduced it this year as H.R. 181. ...

What is your problem?

I've stated several times throughout this thread and SPECIFICALLY to you HERE that I would be reviewing the Executive Order this weekend.

So shut up with your babbling accusations.

Folks, this is NOT PROPAGANDA! If you will GOOGLE Executive Order 13263 you will be referred to three thousand, six hundred, and ninety sources of information on this topic.

The second one listed is Executive Order 13263, establishing the President's New Freedom Commission on Mental Health. the source of which is www.whitehouse.gov/news/ releases/2003/09/20030917-10.html - 37k -

So please, please stop babbling about propaganda!

But I live in Babbleon. I tried the link. It didn't work and said it had been removed. Uh-oh conspiracy and government coverup.

If it was 2003 or so when this was ordered, it would have BEEN PUT INTO EFFECT already. This is the first time I have ever even heard of it. It has not been mentioned by anyone in my school district, state, no media, etc. NUMBER 2)I hate to think of all the wasted time this would cause--ok boys it's time for the pill break, girls you will go in 10 minutes 3)it would be tremendously expensive--something that no school district HERE could afford 4)most teachers I know AND almost any parent would NOT support such a thing 5)as teachers, we really don't have the time required by something like this 6)the fallout from such an order would be tremendous, in any way you look at it

Thank you for informing me that anything you find on the internet can be assumed to be the gospel truth. I googled UFO's--4 MILLION information sources and 200 thousand photos. WOW they do exist. I googled Bigfoot--over 3 million information sources. WOW! Those tales I heard from my mom were true. The Loch Ness Monster--oh drat, only 650,000 sources. But wait! There are over 2 thousand images. Man, I can't wait to find out more about Mothman, the Yeti, Ogopogo, shadow people, ghosts, and so on. You have opened up a whole new world of information!!!

Wake up and smell the ovens! Now what the $%%$%$%$ does this refer to or have to do with the article??? It alludes to the simple, the naive, the in-denial amongst the German volk that professed ignorance of the sin right under their noses. I wasn't sure if it was you referring to your misunderstanding of me being a female or the Germans. I thought it was the latter. By the way, how are those muffins coming?

For over sixty years it has not been fear of Germans. nor of Russians, nor of terrorists that lay heavy on my heart. No, instead it has been the gut roiling apprehension that EVIL would find a dwelling place right here in my homeland. This ugly, useless, gargantuan, invasive proposition drips with the potential for evil the likes of which...

My biggest worry (not fear) is protecting our country, plain and simple. HOWEVER, I do share your concern about Evil appearing here. I think it is manifesting itself in more subtle ways. The lines get drawn and the plain folks caught in the middle are the ones who get overwhelmed. Again, again, again, I DON'T support this measure. I have seen some of it happen in my neighborhood. When gossip is loosened and hatred (sorry not talking gays here) is spread, then people do change. It's very alarming to me as well. It's the main reason why I work so hard to make a difference in my community and to look for the good things I can find. The world will become more evil, but if we work together to combat it, good will win out in the end.

This sounds too much like propaganda. Good heavens sir, how does propaganda get " Executive Order 13263" attached to it?

That was not my original statement.

What would it take to shake you out of your comfortable "protected by that nice man in the White House" cocoon? Throw off the tunnel vision goggles. This loathsome proposition has to do with education only on the periphery!

Good heavens! I don't necessarily support the President on immigration, the trade deficit, education, borrow and spending, etc. I don't support this proposal (as I've said about 10 times now). BUT I do respect the man as my President and the office. Yes, I can disagree with him. BUT I do respect him. I wouldn't want his job.

My goodness, what is this world coming to? A schoolteacher defends the President and gets blasted for it!!! I'm confused, am I talking to Conservatives or liberals? By the way, I don't have tunnel vision goggles. They interfere too much with my contacts. Oh yeah, I became a butterfly long ago so there is no need to be in a pupal state. I do teach some pupals at my school though. I do agree with your last sentence though.

If you do then please please don't Google : Ritalin Child Protective Services custody I can make websites too. Matter of fact, I do make them. The source you need to read is the source the information came from. That is the Executive Orders. I won't even begin to enter this discussion until I've read them. I stated I've not yet earlier in this thread. Go to the source for the info, never secondary. The interpretations are what someone WANTS you to believe. Good points. Just because someone makes a political statement about it, does not mean that it's accurate. You have simply made the point that you need to study the issue first without jumping to conclusions like so many do. You must be a good voter.

I teach first grade in an elementary school. I absolutely love it. I have a teacher's dream job. I live in the school boundaries where I work. I see tons of miracles happen. I get to work with great parents and kids. I tutor some of my students and have a blast each time. The list goes on.

I also get to serve my community. I am one of the few in my town that goes to city council meetings for fun (good place to correct papers too). I don't always agree with what they say, but I like seeing our system of government in action. Fortunately, there are some great respresentatives on the council who genuinely work to serve the city. I try to volunteer when I have time in various capacities. I hopefully can do more. One thing I try to do for the students is to have them learn to appreciate the community. I bring in a lot of people from the community and area businesses to be guest speakers. The kids love it. Now, I am trying to establish a community hero award where my class will recognize various unsung heroes in the community. Our first one rewarded a lady at the library. Her workers were thrilled and wrote up a bunch of neat things about her. The woman was gracious as well. The kids loved it. They also love the guy with Down's syndrome I have come in to volunteer. The last time he came in he said to the kids, "You guys love me, right?" The kids replied in the affirmative. He said, "I love you too, but not to get married, just as a friend." He is a wonderful example to me.

I am a simple person and I try to have a simple life. The past few years have been tough, but I have really learned to appreciate the simple things in life. How many times do we thank the guy upstairs for flushing toilets, running water, big houses, nice yards, running cars, and so on??? There's a LOT of people in the world who don't have the things we do so we should be thankful for what we have.

Oh dear, I'm running off at the mouth again. The one and main joy that has eluded me has been having the family I want. I hope that will happen someday. It is indeed my biggest wish.

First grade is the most fun of ages!

That is the age bracket my children are.

Hands on learning activities are FUN!

Make your own playdoh.

Egg incubators.

Lots and Lots of seed and garden experiments and planting.

Time to break out the butterfly pavillion!

I will be sad when my kids outgrow this stage.

I thought so. TMAP is the precursor this, and seems to have followed GW to DC from Texas. If you have any doubts about what the RWJF is about, google them up in combination with the Hildebeast and her Health Care Task Force.

I've been trying to find feedback to how the Illinois program is going. I'll keep looking. Meanwhile, I stumbled on this from before the implementation,

http://www.illinoisleader.com/printer/article.asp?c=17748

"The mental health program will develop a mental health system for "all children ages 0-18 years," provide for screening to "ensure appropriate and culturally relevant assessment of young children's social and emotional development with the use of standardized tools."

I bring in lots of guest speakers from the community and it is great to watch the kids' eyes light up as they learn something new or when they show a lot of progress in reading.

The other day, I was bringing in some guest speakers to my class when half my class jumped out and said boo. I acted scared and they just hooted and hollered. Up on the board where Mr. _____, you are the best teacher and such. It was fun. After all, I'm just a kid trapped in a fat man's body.

I would give you my class website link, BUT I make it a point never to reveal personal info here--there have been a couple of unpleasant instances that others have experienced here (especially with liberal moles). My website is almost in the top million for traffic. It is up from # 4million a year ago, haha.
