Sen. Ted Kennedy's brother-in-law is the mystery witness who raised $100,000 for Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton and then went undercover and wore a wire to help the feds nab one of her top moneymen on charges of fund-raising-fraud, The Post has learned.
The witness, Ray Reggie, 43, has a sister, Victoria, who married Kennedy in 1992, and prosecutors say Reggie secretly recorded "incriminating" statements made by David Rosen, a top Clinton fund-raiser.
Reggie was close enough to Bill and Hillary Clinton to sleep over at the White House in 2000 and stay up chatting with the first couple into the wee hours.
Sources tell The Post that he is the "cooperating witness" described but not named in recent court papers and that he is likely to testify at Rosen's May 3 trial as part of a plea deal struck with federal prosecutors.
The well-connected Reggie stayed undercover for nearly 21/2 years, helping the feds on multiple probes, and was still wearing a wire and making secret tapes as recently as last December, federal documents show.
Reggie hobnobbed at the very top Democratic levels. A month after he'd raised $100,000 for Hillary Clinton's Senate campaign in 2000, Bill Clinton invited him to a state dinner for the king of Morocco and a sleepover at the White House.
Reggie told The Times-Picayune of New Orleans that he and his wife later got a post-midnight knock on their bedroom door. The Clintons had come to chat.
Yesterday, Reggie, a Democratic campaign consultant who worked for both Clintons and for Al Gore, pleaded guilty in New Orleans to unrelated multimillion-dollar bank-fraud charges.

How about Mr. Globaloney Internationalist George Soros? The reason he comes to mind is because of his repeated statements about the re-election of W being a matter of life and death for him.
With his money he can live gloriously in any part of the world he chooses. Why is it life and death who gets elected in the US? I believe Soros has several good reasons to deeply fear investigation by a non-Clinton DOJ.
In any case, I'm looking forward to the results.
The trouble is, each time that contention is advanced, more folks believe it.
Thank you both for your thoughtful comments.
Thanks very much. Please see the post immediately after yours.
She claimed that but the Reggies are Louisianians through and through and for generations. Lots of rumors about their ancestry down here.
You are not alone. I'd hate to count how many times I made excuses for Starr and figured that justice for the Clintons was coming only to face bottomless disappointment.
OTOH the Clinton Crime Family is no longer in total control of the DOJ as they were for 8 loooooonnnng years.
OTOOH I'm pretty sure they haven't destroyed their blackmail stash...
At least, I can snicker at how TeddyBoy's day is going today...LOL ...wonder if he'll be a no show in senate chambers today...
Like Father Like Son
Another of Reggie's sons, Raymond "Ray" Reggie, inherited his father's appetite for politics and became a consultant to well-known Democratic leaders including former President Clinton, former Vice President Gore, and U.S. Senators Hillary Clinton and Edward Kennedy. He also worked on the local campaigns of former New Orleans Mayor Marc Morial and Police Superintendent Richard Pennington. Ray Reggie, 43, engaged in fund raising, planned strategy, and placed advertising the latter through Media Direct, his Poydras Street company in New Orleans which, at its peak in 2000, had about 40 employees and about $60 million in posted annual revenue [37].
Following the 2000 election season, Ray Reggie's business took a downward turn, and he set about to support his company by using several dubious schemes. Allegedly, he shifted funds from one bank to another to make his business appear more solvent than it actually was. He allegedly also fabricated documents to create the impression that his business had millions of dollars worth of work contracts and used the bogus contracts to convince lending institutions to advance him loans [37].
In one instance, Ray Reggie allegedly had an employee lease a mailbox in Washington, DC and impersonate a contracting officer for the U.S. Census Bureau. Reggie allegedly claimed to have a $18.5 million contract with the U.S. Census Bureau and allegedly used the bogus accounts receivable to apply for additional bank loans. Hibernia National Bank has sued Reggie for defaulting on a $6 million loan, and he allegedly is in debt to two other commercial lenders who advanced him money based on falsified claims. In the midst of its financial crisis, Media Direct ceased operation in 2002 [37].
Federal prosecutors have charged Ray Reggie with attempting to defraud three banks of millions of dollars. If convicted on all charges, he would face up to 35 years in prison and up to $1.25 million in fines [38]. However, as with his father, the younger Reggie's ties to prominent political figures may be to his advantage, and the crystal ball of history fortells that federal judges in New Orleans, especially if they have maintained a cozy relationship with Tulane, will seek ways to minimize any penalties.
This means nothing if they can't stick the clintons - in particular the Wicked Witch of New York - with some criminal charges.
"Reggie told The Times-Picayune of New Orleans that he and his wife later got a post-midnight knock on their bedroom door. The Clintons had come to chat."
More likely is that Bill Clinton came to see if he could snag Reggie's wife for a little late-night "entertainment".
...and how are these charges against the Clintons different than those allegedly lodged against Tom Delay? Can't understand why the Clintons keep getting pass...
He was laundering money through many of the 527's .. especial America Coming Together (John Podesta) and Media Fund (Harold Ickies)
Which are both headed by prominent political figures from the Clinton Admin
Hmmmm .... Oh the possibilities ..
Where's the popcorn?
I'm reminded of a long ago post by Common Tator. He figured that Bush and Rove started working on how to keep the Hildebeast out of the Oval Office on November 3, 2004.
he he
the black smoke is rising from the dem caucuses - the hill is shaking - not many demCraps sleeping good for a long time.
Let's hope - for ONCE - everything doesn't just fade away. 'Certainly a lot worse than Watergate. What sweet justice if hitlery gets her just deserts on this - full circle from her days when she worked so hard taking Nixon down.
"The wheels of Justice...exceeding slow but exceeding fine"?
Are restrooms mandatory in Denver, to meet the club requirements?
the story said Hitlery is not expected to be charged. So this is just more of underlings going down for the dark queen Hitlery. When will it ever end? Until Hitlery and her ugly spouse go to jail, I will never be satisfied.
The Clinton's will never go to jail
This country will never put a former President and First Lady in jail
But that doesn't mean those around them couldn't do jail time :0)
Yeah, I know. All that "respect for the office" stuff. IMO respect for the office requires keeping it clean and, when it's been rendered filthy, cleaning up the filth. But you're right--it ain't gonna happen.
Another sure thing....No Kennedy will ever be tarnished by something a family member does, and they've done it all!
And, yes, you're right, some people close to the Clintons have gone to jail for them. Susan McDougal and Jim, Web Hubbell, Jim Guy Tucker...there may have been others. But in the over all scheme of things, we have to admit nothing has really hurt the Clintons.......or the Kennedys either. The MSM has seen to that.
Limbaugh talking about this story now...
