If true, this is great. It was stupid in the first place and the State of AZ owes him an apology.

No jury would convict him here. There isn't a week that goes by without a news story about dozens of illegals being held by "coyotes" in some rented house in Phoenix. Nobody has any illusions about what's going on.

Good for him.
I heard him on one of the radio talk programs a few days ago.
Apparently, he was traveling to CA, stopped in AZ near the border. Encountered some 'people' out there late at night. They appeard that they were going to attack him, so he brought out his gun and actually apprehended them. He called the Border Patrol who finally came out. BP asked the aliens if they wanted to press charges against the Sgt. They did. Thus, he was facing charges.

To some, Patrick Haab is a hero. To others, a vigilante. Today, the Maricopa County Attorney announced that he will not prosecute Haab for holding several people he believed to be illegal immigrants hostage.
More details to come.

Arpaio owes him an apology for shooting his mouth off on national TV just about having this young hero convicted.

Good. I don't see what crime it could possibly be performing a citizen's arrest on people who are not citizens and have no rights.
