According to Sen. Kyl, they had to get a judge voted out to the senate floor before they would envoke the Constitutional Option. Since she has now made it to the floor, the Constitutional Option is now a "go" if they choose to do it. Kyl said they have the votes.

I simply think the dems know that Frist doesn't have the votes, and are openly embarrassing him.

We'll know for sure if the Dims start pushing for an immediate vote, and/or Frist starts looking for ways to delay the vote. But I think you're right - the Bolton fiasco showed the Rats that the GOP senate "leadership" has lost control of its caucus, and they figure that one more good hard shove will bring the whole thing crashing down.

"It's a wonder to me that blacks vote for Democrats at all."

There was this historical thing called slavery. As you would agree, it was a horrible thing, and something to be feared. The democrats have simply capitalized on that fear.

The GOP has done a horrible job of telling the truth about history. It was a GOP president that worked to free the slaves, and a democrat party that was all for enforcing Jim Crow laws.

Blacks used to be a voting block of the GOP.

Just heard on Rush - the Dims have a media dog-and-pony show scheduled for today at Georgetown University on judicial appointments. This must be why they allowed Ownes and Brown to get out of committee.

Disagree. They have cashed in on unconstitutional entitlements and affirmative action. It was Democrats who filibustered the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

The GOP has done a horrible job of telling the truth about history.

They've done a horrible job of telling the truth about the present too.

Blacks used to be a voting block of the GOP.

True indeed.

Rush just announced that Santorum is backing off the nuclear option citing internal polls that say people think the Pubs would be destroying the time honored tradition of the Senate.

I give up.

Thank You. I did forget 'conservative' - major point. This is a DOUBLE WHAMMY for the left. Conservative, Constitution-protecting black woman -- OMG! cries the left.

Santorum isn't really backing off. He's just noted that polls show a public swayed by media, and not persuaded by the GOP message ("What message is that?" I wonder aloud). Santorum notes that Senate leadership is in control of the timing and unfolding of a possible restoration of Constitutional principle to the Senate's advice and consent role.

I'm not holding my breath either, but a fair reading of Santorum's comments is not that he advocates backing off indefinitely.

Rush also said he doesn't think the Republicans will use the nuclear option this session....just great.
