New Ad Rips Voinovich For Blocking Bolton

(SACRAMENTO) – The organization strongly backing the nomination of John Bolton to serve as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Move America Forward (website: www.MoveAmericaForward.org), has released a new 60-second radio ad that will begin airing throughout the state of Ohio on Thursday criticizing Republican Senator, George Voinovich, for blocking the confirmation of John Bolton for U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations.

.....

The ad features radio personalities Melanie Morgan and Tom Benner of KSFO 560 AM San Francisco and can be downloaded from Move America Forward’s website: www.MoveAmericaForward.org

“Senator George Voinovich single-handedly blocked the Bolton confirmation vote based on unproven, unsubstantiated and uncorroborated allegations of an anti-Bush activist dished up at the last minute by those whose only intentions were to obstruct President Bush’s nominee,” said Howard Kaloogian, Chairman of Move America Forward.

Kaloogian was referring to the fact that the allegations cited by Senate Democrats in their last minute frenzy of anti-Bolton material came from a self-described liberal Democrat who helped launch the Dallas chapter of “MOB” – Mothers Opposing Bush.

“It’s inexcusable that George Voinovich would follow the marching orders of some left wing activist over the recommendations of President Bush and Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice who enthusiastically support John Bolton,” Kaloogian said.

VOINOVICH’S MISSPLACED ALLEGIANCE

“We need someone like Bolton to help fight the corruption and anti-Americanism that increasingly seems to be the cause célèbre of UN officials. But a Republican turncoat Senator doing the bidding of the ‘Blame America First’ crowd obstructs Mr. Bolton’s confirmation. It’s amazing that Senator Voinovich could align himself with those who need no excuse to defend the United Nations yet criticize America’s Commander in Chief,” said Melanie Morgan, Co-Chair of Move America Forward.

Move America Forward is funding this advertising effort solely from the contributions received from its supporters, primarily through online contributions made at www.MoveAmericaForward.org.

“Since we announced our intentions to broadcast ads criticizing Senator Voinovich’s obstruction of the Bolton nomination, contributions from all around the country have been coming in and overwhelming our website at times. This is a stunning response from patriotic Americans,” said Morgan.

The organization is already preparing additional ads to air as part of the overall ad campaign, and the ads will run between now and the resumption of the Bolton confirmation hearings.

“We’re going to hold Senator Voinovich’s feet to the fire. If he thought he needed to be sensitive to the pressure from liberal Senators Barbara Boxer and John Kerry, then we think he should also be responsive to those Ohioans who want to see a strong advocate for U.S. interests at the UN,” Morgan concluded.

I wrote him too, many times, but I was not nearly as polite as you were! :-)

One of these days, I'm going to have to let loose. They'll probably ignore it (like they don't already), but it will be cathartic.

Apparently Voinivich is now claiming the Holy Spirit told him to do so.

I had NOT read that! Sheesh, what a pathetic a$$clown. That sounds like something the Reverend JAAAACK-sen would say, FGS!

As far as I am concerned, I consider that Bolton used restraint when dealing with those America haters in the State Department.

If he withheld information from Powell and Armitage, then I applaud him.

Thank you for your service!

Bolton was nominated for this post because the US is trying to get the UN to do what it's mandated to do. Bolton is the man to do that. Kerry and his cronies think the UN is everything.

I have been stating since the election the only thing that can take down the Republicans is the Republicans. Hillary has never been my concern, and the fools in the Senate are proving me right. All they have to do is what they promised during the campaign and their elections are home free, and the cowards cannot even do that even with a mandate.

Here's a piece from Rush's show today...

I have a question, ladies and gentlemen. How can anyone -- Barbara Boxer, add to the list, whoever -- how can anyone who defended Bill Clinton oppose John Bolton on supposed treatment of a couple of staffers? This pathetic hypocrisy persists without comment, except by me. Does Senator Voinovich realize how absurd he looks to Republicans and conservatives here? Now, I'm going to tell you something, folks. Everybody calls in and has fear in their heart about Hillary and fear in their heart about Democrats, and I've cautioned you that that's not good. If you're going to walk around in fear out there, redirect and re-channel your fear because the Republicans are skating dangerously close to minority status once again, especially in the Senate.

They are weak on illegal immigration, the basics, like driver's licenses. They have been weak on ending unconstitutional filibustering of judges. They've done a miserable job explaining their position to the American people, i.e., PR. They have been weak in their support of key administration figures such as Rumsfeld, the phony attacks on Cheney and Halliburton, and now we gotta stand up guy here, John Bolton, nominated to take on that cesspool known as the United Nations, which is an anti-Semitic, anti-American corrupt organization that rewards despots, and this guy, stand-up guy, is under attack by the very liberal senators who defend the likes of Kofi Annan and the UN bureaucracies. Do you realize that Kofi Annan was defended by the same people who are suggesting that Bolton is not qualified? The quotes in the LA Times, I'm going to trust that the quotes are accurate even though they appear in the LA Times. I know it's a roll of dice these days. They had to fire a reporter. He made up a story. Boston Globe fired reporters. LA Times firing reporters. New York Times firing reporters. Detroit Free Press not firing a sports reporter but nevertheless chastising him for making up events in a column. So for the moment until we know otherwise we'll assume these quotes in the LA Times are accurate.

But really, how in the world do you defend Kofi Annan, a whole institution to the UN and you end up trying to trash a stand-up guy like John Bolton? I mean, the Democrats don't need any help here, and yet they're getting it. Actually the right way to say it is they do need all the help they can get, and they're getting it from Republicans. Now, if the GOP loses the Senate -- I'm just going to tell you this -- if they lose the Senate they're going to have these moderates to thank, and what is their agenda? What is the agenda of moderates? It's impossible to know because by definition moderates are not supposed to have an agenda. I think moderates are governed by fear, fear of what other people will think of them, but apparently if there is an agenda it's to allow liberals to block judges, to allow legal immigration, to allow tax cuts to be reversed as they were temporary, to allow Social Security to go broke, like liberal Democrats, these moderate Republicans have nothing to offer. They just don't want to be seen as conservatives. They're scared to death they're going to be seen as conservatives. What do they stand for other than procedural efforts to obstruct conservative agenda items? That's who these moderate Republicans in the Senate are, and if they do have an agenda, you see that it coincides with the lib Democrat agenda in the Senate, far more often than with the Republican Party.

I guarentee things don't change immediately the Republicans are going to lose the Senate, and I'll be active in making that reality. Either get these liberal cowards under control or we start taking action ourselves to surgerically remove those in the way of the agenda we elected.

Voinovich is hiding from phone calls. His office phone 202-224-3353 is forwarding all calls to a full mail box. He should resign.

Everybody from Cleveland knows Voinovich's brother is a mobbed-up contractor, and that MOB MONEY backed George's first forays into politics back in the day.

George Voinovich is more than just a RINO, he's the mobster's friend. Another reason to get rid of this idiot.

McConnell campaigned for the RINOs Arlen Spinchter and George Voinovich.

That speaks volumes.

I think the Democrat dirt machine came up with something really filthy on Voinovich. And I think the Republicans better get a team of their own diggers on the case - - and fast - - to find out what the Democrats got.

Once they come up with the goods, the Republicans can tell Voinovich that either they can dump the dirt on the press and leave him to twist in the wind, or the rats can dump the dirt on the press and give Voinovich the opportunity to claim "politics of personal destruction" and maybe get some cover from the GOP. His choice.

But first, the Republicans have to find out what the rats got on him.

I've written to both Vain and Whine in the past on a number of issues. I never, never, get a letter or anything back. I might as well be talking to the wall as I know from their voting records they are not representing me or my party's interests. Ohio needs a new set of senators, very badly.

Although I don't agree with him, but he is my district representative, Kucinich at least communicates with me. We don't agree, but I know what he's thinking.

Interesting article from yesterday points out that Voinovich was so concerned about Bolton's temper and his actions against an employee but his own actions in the past have been worse.
