I think Mr. DeLay just gave the media the finger.

Good for him.

DeLay is the wrong vehicle to pose a reasoned critique of judicial overreach. He lacks the depth and credibility. He lacks "nuance." He overstates, and gets out on a limb, that is subject to being cut off.

"The judiciary has become so activist and so isolated from the American people that it's our job to do that," DeLay said.

Can't we all just get along?

:) Denote sarcasm.

He "slammed" a Supreme Court Justice? With what? A brick? A briefcase? A depleted-uranium fungo bat?

What was it when Robert Byrd used a paper-thin rhetorical device to imply that Republicans were ideological kin of the National Socialist German Workers Party (kind of ironic huh?). Oh, I know. He was being plain spoken. Or his rhetoric was a little over the top. Or he was being true to himself. Or feisty.

I wonder of Mary Jo felt anything slam into her. Well, even if she did, she didn't have to feel it for long.

>> Nevertheless, it is unusual for a congressional leader to single out a Supreme Court justice for criticism. <<

I find it hard to believe that ANY leftist congressional leader (co-called) has not criticized Thomas or Scalia, at one time or another.

GO DELAY GO!!!!!

The left sees international law and FORCED treaty ratification as a way of bypassing the constitution.

Imagine the senate adopting an UNCONSTITUTIONAL treaty, Kennedy would superceed the constitution with the treaty.

There are very serious times.

"These justices need to be impeached. I support Cong. DeLay"

Which Justices exactly? DeLay sounds like an idiot when he criticizes Kennedy. Yes Kennedy worte the decision in Roper v. Simmons. But frankly, whether juvenile offenders can be executed is a fairly marginal issue in the grand scheme of things.

Rather, look at Kennedy when he is dealing with issues of federalism. Kennedy has been a strong voice for states rights and rolling back federal government involvement. As a conservative and a lawyer, I can tell you that in big picture issues, Kennedy has done an excellent job. Don't lose the forest for the trees, people.

I love DeLay. He's under attack from the Liberals and he has basically just told them all to stuff it. LOL I guess he's letting them know that he's not going anywhere. I hope they've got his message, and I hope the Judges have got the message too. He's going after them. It's been a long time since we've had anyone as good as Tom DeLay is. It must be driving the RATS wild. :-)

I don't see anything intrinsically wrong with doing research on the net. kennedy stands convicted in my book for the late ruling re: applying capital punishment to sub18 murderers. of the three bases he cites for his ruling, only the consultation of foreign opinion is not utterly spurious... and that one is against the law.

The worst are Souter and Ginsberg--people who must have received a law degree as a cereal box prize. Party line and politically correct to the max (Souter must have hidden his socialist democrat dreams of utopia). He's out now and has been screwing with the constitution since his appointment. Ginsberg never hid the fact she was more dedicated to the latest whim of liberal chic than anything produced by our founders.
There oughta be a way to retire these imbeciles.
