Are you confusing Keifer with his father Donald?

I'm not even sure what Keifer's politics are. I have a vague recollection that he supported some Dem cause but nothing definite.

And Jack Bauer rules.

I'd be surprised if a Canadian working in Hollywood-even if not living there permanently-supported the GOP.

Wouldn't that be something?!

:)

Yeah but you know that terrorist tie-in to the Heritage Foundation is still hanging out there waiting to play out.

This is the first season I've watched this show. The first several episodes were very good. But now, it's really become preposterous. Jack Bauer, the savior of mankind, has been in something like 10 gunfights and physical altercations in the course of 14 hours. I mean, doesn't he need a shower or something? But the thing that aggravates me the most about this show is the fact that the country is under nuclear threat, already town have been destroyed, and you're telling me that the CTU agents would stop to talk about their personal lives? Everytime Audrey starts folding her arms and whining I want to jump through the screen and kill her!! COME ON. If this is an indication as to how are CTU works here, I'M MOVING!!!!

AFAIK, Keifer is an American even though his grandfather, Tommy Douglas was a prominent Canadian pol who is credited with founding that countries < sarcasm> wonderful < /sarcasm> health care system.

OTOH, Douglas was a Baptist minister who had a mink farm so maybe he wasn't all that bad.

I noted that. Payback for slamming the Heritage Foundation, I guess.

I really appreciate how balanced the show is. There are good and bad of every type and stripe.

The only prominent Canadian leader-that I know of-who was good for this country was former Prime Minister Mulroney.

Let's hope that Stephen Harper-either in the next election, or the succeeding one-is able to restore a modicum of sanity to that country's foreign and domestic policies.

That's just the way 24 is. You have to suspend believability sometimes to enjoy it. After all, it's only a TV show, not a documentary.

THE SHIELD ruined episodic TV for me. It's so realitic that everything else just is too phony. Have you ever seen The Shield?

The flaming libs held control of Canada for about 70 percent of the last century and 100 percewnt of this one.

OK...do yourself a favor and rent the DVDs from the first 3 seasons and then you'll be caught up. I guarantee you will be mesmerized. We watched 3 whole seasons (39 hours in less than a week), we were addicted! It's not for the faint of heart, though and if you don't like profanity, sex and violence, stay away!!!!

I'll butt in...yes, it's stars the brilliant Michael Chiklis who is astonishing in the role of Vic Mackey. See the post below your last one.

The last time I went to the bar I said, "Could I get another Diet Coke from you?" She said, "What's my name?" She had been introduced to me when she first arrived. She said, "If you don't remember my name, if you can't come up with my name, I'm not getting you anything." So I looked around, there was nobody there that I could ask, so I just said, "Lavern." "Do I look like a Lavern to you?" "Well, what does a Lavern look like? I thought it was Lavern." So I started guessing names and she'd hold the drink out to me, this tall glass of Diet Coke, and as I said each name she's pull it away. (Laughing) I mean, just a flat out tease. She finally told me her name was Joni and made me pour it myself, and I still enjoyed it! I still had a good time.

For a minute I thought a 12 year old had taken over Rush's head.

I loved him in The Commish.

Though to be perfectly honest, I haven't seen him perform too many dramatic roles.

He's the ANTI-Commish in this show: a dirty cop. That's why it's so astonishing.

I thought I was the only one that liked The Commish. That was good show. Hard to believe that Chiklis was only 29 when he got that job. He looked 49.

I agree that the love-story stuff is preposterous, but other than that I like the show enough to record it. I watched a few episodes last year, but they kept jumping from one cliff-hanger to the next and never resolved anything, so I got bored and quit watching. This year I've followed it so far, and they haven't lost my interest yet. 24 and The Shield are my 2 favorite shows. In fact, the only other show I watch is Lost, and I'm getting burned out on all the re-runs and unexplained happenings.
