I take full responsibility for that. Up till today, I had hope for the GOP; no anymore.

Hang in there, we'll get our 97-seat filibuster proof majority yet. I still think we'll get Bolton through and the Democrats have just wasted a fight over a UN nominee.

I just hope we aren't stupid enough to waste a fight on Chief Justice, we need to keep the powder dry to get a new member on the SCOTUS, not to upgrade an already seated Justice.

The problem I have with this is, that this is the proving ground for the major battles to come. The Democrats would rather see the entire world engulfed in a massive thermonuclear conflagration than see conservative justices appointed to the SCOTUS. Look how far this little battle is removed from that scenario.

IMO, the question regarding the UN should be, rather than arguing about an ambassador, we should be planning a republican alternative organization, and subsequently resigning from the UN and throwing their corrupt asses out of US sovereign territory.

By being timid, we are being lured into the ongoing Democrat trap. There is still time to recover, however:
Focus on the judicial appointments.
Jam the "Constitutional Option" down their throats.
Convince the conservative justices that it is OK to retire, and then ramrod conservative SCOTUS and other judicial appointees through the process.

If we don't get this after achieving the majority we have, what good does Republican majority (and all of our effort and donations) bring?
