OK..here's what we know..Senate is in recess for the weekly party caucus luncheons. Supposed to resume at 2:15. on C-span 2.. The Foreign Relations committee is supposed to meet at 2:45 to vote on the Bolton nomination. Lugar has refused requests for a delay. Just before the Senate recessed, Reid objected to Frist's UC request for the Froeign Relations committee to meet today. Frist withdrew his request..

If Voinivich is too damn busy to do his job than he should resign effective immediately.
Does anyone know what kept Voinovich away from the hearings?

After hearing her today I'm glad I didn't buy her book right away, sounds like she added quite a bit to the paperback version.

You know, I'm beginning to believe the RNC doesn't have any power what so ever in controlling outta hand RINOS...SO WHY GIVE to them??...FORGET IT! Why even bother to call them up..emails and phone calls don't do jack! This is the last straw for me...I'm outta the party, they have been TESTED AND FAILED...my nerves can't take anymore of this crap for 4 more long years! I'm really beginning to doubt if the pubs will ever be in control after 08!This is the last straw that broke the camels back for MANY folk! Perhaps I'm irrational right now, but I've waited, donated, worked the streets for the pubs, for what? for this...I don't think so, TODAY I WAS BURNED royally by our party and this is what we are to expect coming up for the judicial nominees...NO THANKS! Maybe I'll feel differently tomorrow...I don't know, my disappointed in them right now is HUGH!...:(

Lugar was blind-sided by Voinovich and to a smaller extent, Chaffee and Hagel.
He had no choice once he knew he didn't have the votes to win and kept Bolton as a nominee alive by not holding the vote.
The overall effect of the Pubs letting the RATS steam roll them though, is that Bolton has been effectively, although slowly forced out.
John Gibson reporting that the nomination is "very much in doubt" due to Voinovich.

Problem is, who knew there were this many RINOs? They're getting "outed" now, aren't they?
They would do well to remember that money crosses state lines. I may live in Washington, but I can contribute to a candidate in Ohio, or New York, or Rhode Island...

The current US Senate reminds me a lot of the UN. Neither one has any intention of solving any problems. It's still all about maintaining power. Nobody wants to force the issue on judges, taxes, social security, national defense, the UN, etc. Just look good for the cameras and be popular with the DC crowds.

I was much happier when I ignorant of all things political. I'd just go to the polls, vote Republican and go home. Looks like that's the way to save my sanity!

because the white house political operation doesn't affirmatively keep "our guys" in line on these issues. Voinovich didn't just blindside the WH. He made his fellow Senator Lugar look unprepared and foolish. Why did Voinovich do this? What is HIS motivation? Not getting enough strokes from the WH is not the reason.

FoxNews republican strategist is now trying to say this is just a bump in the road.
I turned it off before the DemonRAT strategist came on and gloated.
The RATS have the Pubs by the gonads. Still.

If he truly folded I would think that the Dems would have insisted on a vote today.Exactly.
To: Howlin
And now, to complete the day, Bolton to the UN! Ah, life is good! It's all your fault for gloating too early, Howlin.
