Why did Voinovich blindside his own Prwesident, and his own chairman, at the last minute? That's what makes no sense..If he wanted to delay..he could have told Lugar before the meeting , and Lugar could have given the Dems two more weeks, and looked statesmanlile and bipartisan doing so..

Maybe he folded because he's looking for a job in Hillary's (shudder) White House?

Why did Voinovich blindside his own Prwesident, and his own chairman, at the last minute? That's what I'm trying to figure out. It had nothing to do with hearing icky wicky things at the meeting. They've been all over. I assume he thinks he is going to get something out of it, but can't think what that might be. I really think Lugar should have been on top of this.

because the white house political operation doesn't affirmatively keep "our guys" in line on these issues. why does a senator from a state that Bush won to give him the presidency just a few months ago, pull a stunt like this? My bet is that no one from the white house has talked to Voinovich about this nomination even one time.

You know, I'm beginning to believe the RNC doesn't have any power what so ever in controlling outta hand RINOS...SO WHY GIVE to them??...FORGET IT! Why even bother to call them up..emails and phone calls don't do jack! This is the last straw for me...I'm outta the party, they have been TESTED AND FAILED...my nerves can't take anymore of this crap for 4 more long years! I'm really beginning to doubt if the pubs will ever be in control after 08!This is the last straw that broke the camels back for MANY folk! Perhaps I'm irrational right now, but I've waited, donated, worked the streets for the pubs, for what? for this...I don't think so, TODAY I WAS BURNED royally by our party and this is what we are to expect coming up for the judicial nominees...NO THANKS! Maybe I'll feel differently tomorrow...I don't know, my disappointed in them right now is HUGH!...:(

That question is excellent and made me think. Voinobitch is not conservative and he may have FBI files hanging around loose. He may have done some un-republican things that he does not want out there in public, and the Dems know about it.
