Posted on 04/19/2005 11:07:48 AM PDT by ken5050

OK..here's what we know..Senate is in recess for the weekly party caucus luncheons. Supposed to resume at 2:15. on C-span 2.. The Foreign Relations committee is supposed to meet at 2:45 to vote on the Bolton nomination. Lugar has refused requests for a delay. Just before the Senate recessed, Reid objected to Frist's UC request for the Froeign Relations committee to meet today. Frist withdrew his request..

Here's the note I just sent the RNC fundraisers:

April 19, 2005

Sir,
The RNC and the entire Republican Party probably ought to stop sending these funding requests for awhile until they can stop acting like spineless clowns in Congress. I, and I think many other conservatives, have had enough.

We’re the people who’ve sent you checks in the past. We’re the people who work on your campaigns. We work at the polls and on the phones on Election Day. We write letters to the editor of our newspaper. We support the President and, until now, were strong party supporters.

But now, I can only say, “not one more dime, not one more hour of my time.” Not one more. Especially after today’s debacle regarding the John Bolton nomination. I don’t want the Senator from Ohio to ever get a nickel of mine.

Not one more dime. Not until this Bolton mess is fixed. Not until President Bush’s judicial nominees get a full Senate vote. Not until many more of you start speaking up on behalf of House Minority Leader Tom Delay.

I was going to put a stamp on this envelope, but the Bolton thing was the last straw. You can pay my postage, too.

Sincerely,

Perlstein is a reporter for The Village Voice. He studies FReepers like Margaret Mead studied Samoans.

LOL

I'm just reading your analogy and it's perfect!

As you know, I've discussed issues with Rick before. He's hopeless.

Time for a Joke....

Senator Hilary Clinton was invited to address a major
gathering of the American Indian Nation two weeks ago
in upper New York State. She spoke for almost an hour on her future plans for increasing
every Native American's present standard of living, should she one day become the
first female President.

She referred to her career as a New York Senator, how she had signed "YES"
for every Indian issue that came to her desk for approval. Although the Senator
was vague on the details of her
plan, she seemed most enthusiastic about her future ideas for helping her "red
sisters and brothers".

At the conclusion of her speech, the Tribes presented the Senator with a plaque
inscribed with her new Indian name -Walking Eagle.
The proud Senator then departed in her motorcade, waving to the crowds.

A news reporter later inquired to the group of chiefs of how they come to select
the new name given to the Senator. They explained that Walking Eagle is the name
given to a bird so full of sh*t it can no longer fly.

If those nit wits want to be Democrats .. FINE .. GO!

I agree. Maybe the Republican party should officially be in the minority. They certainly act like they are. We should grant them that wish next year.

Rich Lowry in National Review's 'The corner' seems ti be intimating that Bolton is toast and that it was the Powell/Armitage loyalists still in the State Dept. that burned him.

The Corner also was first out of the gate to inform us that Kerry was winning on election day.

Oh you caught Bubba in OKC too? "Hillary and I were just talking last night blah blah blah" like they sit around the kitchen table every night. It was "me me me" all the way until he started quoting from the Bible. I will say - it was hypnotic - kinda like watching a snake. But that's another thread.

The problem is that we don't have their votes, as evidenced today.

IMO, it's time to let the McCain-ites find out what ditching the base does to their prospects at re-election. The rest of the Republicans fate will remain in the air unless they start cracking the whip to pull these people in line. Act like the Majority.

The liberals as usual celebrate imaginary victories and they celebrate very early long before the game is over. In the last four years we have watched them celebrating their fake triupmhs time and again, and have multiple fake orgasm over many stories where they thought they got President Bush and the Republicans. However, they were crushed again, and again, and again.

Fortunately for us they have never learned. This is another imaginary victory celebrated very early, and another fake orgasm for the liberals.

Sorry I did not respond, I just had to go watch NCSI and have a very late dinner. I was not sure which comment you were talking about. Every once in a while I just stick a nasty comment in there. Don't worry I have 6 brothers so I can put up with a lot,but I can also be meaner than a junkyard dog but usually save my most venomous comments for nasty libs.
