KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A rabbi wearing a yarmulke and a man wearing swastikas got into a fight at Kansas City International Airport Sunday evening.
According to a police report, Rabbi David Fine, 36, of Overland Park, was in the KCI terminal when he commented to Steven T. Boswell, 30, of Olathe, about a large swastika logo on his shirt and his swastika necklace.
Fine told Boswell that he should be ashamed of himself, and Boswell responded by calling the rabbi inhuman, the police report stated.
The rabbi allegedly threw a cup of coffee in Boswell's face and punched him. Boswell told police he then repeatedly punched Fine in the head.
Both men were handcuffed and charged with disorderly conduct. They refused medical attention.
The responding officer said Fine had some small bumps on his head and Boswell had coffee stains on his clothing.
Both men are scheduled to appear in court on June 22.
LOL! Keep on pinging me, SJackson, I love your posts.
What is sad is that so many comments had to be deleted; we have much work to do yet to clean out the nazi-nests here. I am glad I've come to join the fight.
You really are a liberal, aren't you? There are two things you have demonstrated so far. One is that you are lying, rather obviously. The second is your resort to censorship. These are the tools of the trade for liberals. Old habits are hard to break, aren't they? Or are you just a disrupter?
Read post 185 for an explanation of the meaning and intention of the post you quote, and misread so badly. We are on the same side of this issue, unless, of course, you think abortion and euthanasia are moral actions. I know there are FRiends that support these positions, even if you do not.
Good point--expose them for what they are. Personally, I would rather the posts be left up and the posters themselves deleted, banned, gone. Our enemies lurk here, and love to use these nazi goons to characterize us all.
The Rabbi threw the first punch.
I cannot tell you how many times I've had screaming liberals in my face and how I've wanted to beat the crap out of them.
And I have reveled in the occasions where a liberal hit me.
It's only been twice, unfortunately. Once was at a pro-Life event where the other people were non-violent, pacifist Mennonites. I was there with a Mennonite friend and I am not a pacifist. One of the liberals (a rather vicious lesbian) came up and punched me in the side of the head and she immediately lost a few teeth. And then the sheriff's deputies asked me of I was okay while they cuffed her. The second was at the 1995 Inaugural for CA Gov. Wilson and a shabby looking freak hit me with a sign. I didn't get a chance to hit him back before the CHP was on him like white on rice. And he "resisted arrest", which was fun to watch.
Had I hit either of these people first it would've been ME going to jail and rightly so.
My sympathies do indeed lie with the Rabbi and if he was up to kicking someone's butt then it's a shame the Nazi didn't start the fight. Had the Nazi started the fight and the Rabbi ended it I'd be cheering him on.
But if you stop and look at this again you'll see the Rabbi has now made a victim of a Nazi by starting the fight. And as I said in an earlier post, the Nazis will use this as "proof" of some idiotic point about "all" Jews when it is just one man who lost his cool.
I totally sympathize with the Rabbi, but in the end he has made Jews look bad and he has made a "hero" out of this jerk to his sycophants.
OK VDV
How about it if the person is walking along with a T-shirt that says "Kill all Americans". Wouldn't you confront such a person and express your First Amendment right to tell him what you think? If he got in your face in a threatining way wouldn't you defend yourself?
Nazism is not just "hate speech": it is an ideology of murdering Jews and other "undesireables". So no, such speech should not be ignored. I don't say we have a license to kill someone sporting a swastika, but we have every right to confront such a person and challenge what they are saying.
I vote to ban the Nazi sympathizers. They would sully FR while they masquerade as conservatives.
You missed this part:
Fine told Boswell that he should be ashamed of himself, and Boswell responded by calling the rabbi inhuman, the police report stated.
It was more than just the shirt he was wearing.
You really think there are posters on FR like that? I can't think what they would find here that would interest them. They would get their head handed to them here.
I understand. I apologize; I took it at face value.
I don't. And when a see a large group of neo-Nazis I'll take them seriously. As it stands now, whenever they hold one of their rallies, they're lucky to get a couple of dozen supporters to join in (and a lot of those are very young men who've joined very recently, and will have moved on to something else within a few weeks). Then they march around in their silly get-ups in front of many hundreds of people who come out to oppose them, and a huge law enforcement contingent which has not one iota of sympathy for their views. They're a freak show, just like Fred Phelps and his God-Hates-Fags "church". I'm not worried about either group recruiting large numbers of people and gaining any power.
I applaud you for your restraint. It will be interesting to see how Rabbi Fine and Boswell fare in court.
We know there are. They try to infiltrate and blend in but sometimes their emotions just get away from them.
"Doing it right" would be getting the skinhead to throw the first punch. Then if the skinhead has any assets, a court will transfer them to the rabbi. Unfortunately, the way this rabbi handled things, money is likely to be travelling in the other direction.
I think the "fighting words" doctrine requires a greater level of particularity
Calling a Rabbi an "unhuman" (or subhuman, untermensch etc...) while wearing swastikas is pretty damn particular. You know the ass was probably lurching and bobbing around like he was going to do something too...
"Most of the time a good defense is a prompt offense."
George W. Bush would agree and Saddam Hussein would disagree.
As opposed to shooting the dog you could lobby local government to ban the dogs as dangerous. That's happened in California in several communities.
(But if you are going to shoot it, make sure it's on your property first.)
Good for the Rabbi...there's a reason we say, NEVER AGAIN!
I doubt that would be very difficult.
This also reminds me of something that happened about 12 years ago. I was at a public meeting of some sort and a young man I had seen at this meeting before had a swastika on his shirt. I politely went up to him and asked him if he understood what a swastika stood for. He really didn't have a clue, believe it or not. I explained to him why it was so offensive to me and I requested that he never wear it again. He actually thanked me for explaining it to me and I believe he was sincere, since I did kind of know him.
Typical tactic, when cornered, call someone a liberal.
I have plenty of FRiends here, so I don't need your approval or approbation. If I was a liberal or a disrupter I would have been zotted a long time ago. Ever hear of David Horowitz? Cinnamon Stillwell? Tammy Bruce? All ex-liberals who embraced the conservative cause, just as I have done. In fact, there are many ex-liberals on FR; I know because they write me almost daily to share the experience of a beautiful conversion to truth.
Who are you to judge my sincerity? You're the one who started the jew-bashing. Of course I am against abortion and euthanasia. But frankly, you've proven yourself no gentleman, and so I could not care less what you think.
