Hope it isn't Pope John Kerry, he's been missing for days. He'd have to attend Mass more than once every four years - he'd rather be windsurfing.

A rival claimant to the papacy who refuses to take "no" for an answer. There have been several in the past. Now that would be entertaining!

The Swiss Guards are more than those ceremonial uniforms. Thanks. I'll hope and pray for safety. :-)

Amen! Protestant here, but elated and fascinated by this process and selection.
The suspense is killing me. I also wonder what name he chose.

For the record, I only inferred that (IMHO, the Islamokazis are acting on their own plan; especially since they don't seem to distinguish too well between Protestant, Catholic and Orthodox).

When PJP II came to Chicago, I stood freezing in the winter, with my mother and daughter to watch him fly by at 45 rpm ;) LOL ..
I did almost the same when he came to Philly .. I had tickets to the mass though
Wow .. I can't believe how long ago that was
I was 13/14 years old when JPII become Pope

When there's a new Dali Lama, will it get this much coverage ? Probably not. He belongs to the Tibetan branch of Buddhism.

I'm not thrilled, myself, just a bit concerned. Some Revelation scholars make predictions around a future Pope.
