CHICAGO (CNS) -- Before the cardinals locked into the Sistine Chapel had a chance to cast their first ballot April 18, a group protesting the lack of women's voices in the conclave gathered outside Holy Name Cathedral in Chicago to send up billows of bright pink smoke along with prayers for women to be heard. The event featured statements from several organizations supporting the ordination of women that called on the church to open its doors fully to women's participation. "At a time when young women are sold into slavery around the world, when war brings the rape of women, when it is women and children who suffer in poverty on earth and organized religions keep women in bondage celebrating the language of a male God, we know we cannot keep the silence demanded by male leadership in a church that claims to speak out for human rights," said Dominican Sister Donna Quinn, a member of the National Coalition of American Nuns.
Oh Lord :(
What makes them think women are not heard?
When I was a small child, I went to Catholic school. The nuns terrified me. As an adult, the nuns still terrify me, but for totally different reasons.
Pink smoke. They should be excommunicated.
Wait, what'd you want again?
Surprise me. :o)

God loves pink. Really. He created it. But they do not know about it. We all should pray for them.
The problem stems at least partly from focusing 100% on bodily identity - "I AM A WOMAN screech".
How about "I am a child of God" or "I am an eternal soul" who happens to be inhabiting a woman's body now. Identify as God's servant first, woman/man/black/white/brown etc second, or third.
Everyone has their particular roles, doesn't mean one is better than another.
do i ever have a poem for you! by the master of gender politics shel silverstien :-)
Put another log on the fire.
Cook me up some bacon and some beans.
And go out to the car and change the tire.
Wash my socks and sew my old blue jeans.
Come on, baby, you can fill my pipe
And then go fetch my slippers.
And boil me up another pot of tea.
Then put another log on the fire babe,
And come & tell me why you're leaving me.
Now don't I let you wash the car on Sunday?
And don't I warn you when you're gettin fat?
Ain't I a-gonna take you fishin' with me someday?
Well, a man can't love a woman more than that.
And ain't I always nice to your kid sister?
Don't I take her driving every night?
So, sit here at my feet cause I like you when you're sweet,
And you know it ain't feminine to fight.

Since the Pope appoints the bishops and cardinals, it will be interesting to see if the new pope undertakes a program to make very sure that the people appointed are "OK"
Oh my! I think she's the Mother Superior who (had good reason to) whack my knuckles with a ruler back in the 60s. Can I sue for abuse?
Uh, wrong religion you imbicile.
Why? Why do they want women "priestesses" serving Holy Communion, Baptizing, etc. in the image of pagan goddesses? What purpose would it serve?
Why don't they just find a different church?
It's what you oughtn't to do but you do anyway!
(I can't believe no one has gotten your allusion yet!)
Well, whether or not the feminists think they can do every single thing a man can do I have news for them. They can't. They never will. There is a definite difference between men and women. It's the way it is and will never change. Men are men and women are women. Period! So, the fems can scream 24-7 but in the end...men will STILL be men and women will STILL be women...the way it was intended.
,,, the women can do what Martin Luther did. He didn't waste time with pink smoke.
