Police recommend in a situation like this when you have to carry a lot of cash to the bank that you always bring another person along with you.

Preferably someone who is armed and for sure an excellent shot! OTOH, it helps to be walkin' with the Lord!

The Deacon's lucky he didn't end up in jail.

Most states allow you to defend yourself against crime ONLY if you feel that you are in danger for your life.

Once the theif ran away the Deacon was not in danger, and thus was no longer shooting in self defense.

It's unfortunate that the law is written that way...

The Deacon would be in jail if he did this in my town. Can't shoot at someone who poses no threat to you, as a fleeing robber does not.

Taxman recommends that you spend more quality time at the range, so when you have to pop a cap on a lowlife scumbag, you hit him in the 10 ring!

Going to Normandale with a gun is always a good idea. Going with several other people with guns would be better.

The suspect ran away. If you have any information that could help police identify and catch him, you're asked to call Crimestoppers at 215-STOP. Y

That may be easier if the newspaper would actually INCLUDE A DESCRIPTION of the scumbag in question.

I wonder why one wasn't provided?

Like Sam Colt, or Mr. Smith and Mr. Wesson. Gaston Glock is also good company and any of the Brownings are always welcome.

And this deacon is one reason why allowing concealed carry in churches is a good idea.

Go Baptist Deacon!

Observer: Deacon, Deacon, I thought you were a man of prayer.

Deacon: That's right. I was praying I wouldn't miss.

Happy ending.

As for all the critics, We certaiinly have had to suffer an abundance of trolls on FR since the election.

We have strong stomachs. But come on guys. Go home to DU.
