Schumer calls Conservatives "UnAmerican"

WASHINGTON - Senator Schumer yesterday labeled the head of the conservative Christian Family Research Council "un-American" for accusing Democrats of using the filibuster to block religious judicial nominees.

The accusation came as the Senate majority leader, William Frist of Tennessee, plans to make a speech to a conference organized by the group Sunday. The nationally televised event will argue for an end to the Democrats' ability to use filibusters to delay judicial nominations in the Senate.

"The chances of the anti-filibuster bill passing the Senate grew stronger yesterday as one hitherto recalcitrant Republican senator said he is likely to side with the party leadership on the issue.

Senator Lugar, a Republican of Indiana, said he hoped the impasse over judges could be resolved through negotiation, but that he would vote to end the filibuster "if push came to shove," he told "Fox News Sunday."

You may not want to get rid of Lugar just yet...

There is no Constitutional right for a filibuster. There is however a Constitutional right not to be put to a religious test.

The conservative group's president, Tony Perkins, "stepped over the line," Mr. Schumer said. "He said it's people of faith versus Democrats."

"That is so un-American. The founding fathers put down their plows and took up muskets to combat views like that - that one faith or one view of faith should determine what our politics should be," Mr. Schumer said on the ABC News program "This Week."

The democracks are the ones attempting to exclude all but one view of faith [one without God], and then they try to accuse the Republicans of doing exactly what they, the democracks, are doing.

Chuckie said it is "people of faith against Democrats", but the complaint is that the Democrats are against people of faith, which they have repeatedly shown to be true. And Lindsey Graham may have forgotten which side butters his bread. He's making comments one might expect from Lincoln Chaffee or Olympia Snowe.

[ Like Joe McCarthy, Schumer is calling anyone who disagrees with him "UnAmerican". ]

EVERYbody is Un-american....
We are citizens of States not citizens of america..
America HAS NO citizens..

Thats WHY we are a Republic and NOT a Democracy..
In a democracy you are a citizen of that democracy..
Democrats HATE being citizens of a State and NOT of the United States..
Republicans love that fact.. RINOs are very very confused..

Dis-agreeing with Schumer is just the right thing to do, even if he's correct.. Schumer is a bunko artist.. selling a shell game.. almost ALWAYS.. or some other scam.. Schumer is NOT un-american hes just a dishonest citizen OF A STATE.. ..

Cokie Roberts is either kidding or drunk. Schumer is the Democrat point man on Judicial nominations. He long ago crossed the line on nominations saying that there IS a litmus test and that no nominee who can not be counted on to uphold a woman's right to choose will be confirmed. Previously these same Democrats accused the Republicans of using a pro-life litmus test and pronounced this position reprehensible. So here comes Chuck(?) Schumer saying that no nominee who practices orthodox Catholicism or pro-life religiosity of any kind will be countenanced. And Cokie calls those who disagree with his murderous position anti-semites. And Cokie is a nominal Catholic.

Graham has actually been kinda leaning more and more left this last year, that I have noticed---

I DIDN'T know though, the HE was interested in running for POTUS. I did know that Hagel was---

What confuses me is, if they are planning on running as Republicans, why are they trying so hard to please the extreme left? hm.........

Yeah right, if we stand in their way of destrying America then we're the ones who are un-American.

Only a liberal could be so convoluted.

Chucky Schumer has one great value to any major national issue. He is the "mine canary" to show when the Democrats are about to lose an issue. When Schumer's charges against Republicans or conservatives (or both) become as vitriolic and obviously stupid as this, then we know that the Democrats are about to lose the issue on the table.

So, we can surmise from this that Michael Novak's column several days ago is correct. Finally, Bill Frist has the votes in hand to win this issue on the floor of the Senate. And Schumer has gone "nuclear" in his attacks on his opponents because he, too, knows that this is game, set and match.

That's my take. Did I miss anything? With his skill at doing the wrong thing at the wrong time, Schumer will probably join Reid in shutting down the Senate -- until the public gets really, really upset with the Democrats.

Look, we expect Chuckie (et.al) to say crap like this. They hate this country and this is what they do.

What I want to know is what the HELL is Frist going to do about? If he doesn't stand up and stop this freak'n fillabuster, then Frist is of NO use to conservatives.

ACTION. I want some freak'n OFFENSE & I want it now!

Mr. Schumer, are you now or have you ever been a member of the Democratic Party?

Mr. Schumer, what are you doing?

Senator, please stop referring to the NY Times reporter for your answer!

Just answer the question Senator!

There, there, you poor dear. I know how you feel. I am represented by the regrettable Senator Mark Dayton, who at this moment is probably hiding under a desk somewhere waiting for instructions from Chuck and Hillary.
