Hiring of illegal immigrants provokes faceoff in Upland

UPLAND - Holding signs that read "It's un-American to hire illegals," about 20 protesters on Saturday faced 20 others carrying signs with the words "Immigrants support the U.S. economy." The four-hour rally, in front of the Day Labor Hiring Center at 8547 Grove Ave., drew protesters who said their demonstration was against employers who hire illegal immigrants and others with opposing views.
As Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the U.S.A." played, many carried American flags and dangled their signs in front of them as cars passed by. Some drivers honked car horns in recognition.
"We are protesting the hiring," said Dee Barrow, 77, Upland. "We feel illegals would stop coming here if they would stop hiring them."

We will be seeing more and more of this as the general population realizes what is going on with illegal aliens, our porous southern border and the apparent lack of interest in Washington in taking strong measures to fix the problem.
I got one of these "hiring centers" immediately downhill from where I live. It is incongrously located between Yuppie Hell and the Puget Sound. Pretty much all of the younger guys are hired in the morning, while those that remain just drink beer and smoke pot.
More HEROS on the job. It's great and should/will spread all over the country.
We'll hopefully see more and more of this as people realize what a positive affect they can have.

Worth repeating: Lot of talkers out there. Not many doing the walking.
Yeah, so do bank robbers, prostitutes, and drug dealers....so what!? These people drive me nuts. Heck, so did Mohammed Atta and his bunch of bloodthirsty terrorist fiends for a couple of years. I understand they plunked a real chunk of change on strippers.
And we're talking about ILLEGAL immigrants. Grrr....
You bet buddy, but how many American taxpayers does it take to support you, your wife, your mama, your daddy, your wifes mama and her daddy and their parents and your fifteen children?!
Waving that Mexican flag, he must be a real Mexican patriot - why isn't he waving it in Mexico??

Why didn't someone tell me about this? I would have been all over it instead of doing yard work. How can you have a protest in Upland without Doug from Upland? That is almost un-American.
