The Conservative Voice Forum Index Asks: "Is Free Republic Biased?"

Does Free Republic and Jim Robinson ban those who disagree with them? asks The Conservative Voice.

Most all of the posters seek "Anonymity" when replying to the question raised on The Conservative Voice website: Is Free Republic Biased?
Nathan Tabor, Senior Editor and webmaster, moderates this running "Topic of the Day" and everyday discussion.

Visit Forum

One "Anonymous" poster writes: "Re: Is Free Republic Biased? Biased? Well, since the site is dominated by paid party operatives and federal employees who allow no dissent from the Bush regime's latest political propaganda releases, you could say that it's more a solid, one way amen corner for the neoconservative cabal than a biased website."

Still another "Anonymous" poster writes:"Re: Is Free Republic Biased? They banned me for complaining about losing my career to outsourcing. They taunted and gloated with perverse kitty pictures, infantile cartoons, and guttural remarks that reveal their mentality. The flames fanned by their hatred are now licking at their heels."

ALIPAC also posts the subject: Conservative Website FREE REPUBLIC Mutinies over Bush Comments" and notes: "With reports coming in from around the nation of a split in the conservative base over the Bush amnesty and open borders plans, the nations most frequented conservative website erupted into a mutiny against Bush policies on Thursday. This article below elicited the response. Please take the time to read this article and the comments of many conservatives that are dismayed by Bush's statements about the Minuteman Project on FreeRepublic.com As many of you know, Free Republic had made previous efforts to control the debate by purging immigration reform users."

What seems to be a fledgling conservative based site, The Conservative Voice appears to seek readership through indexed forums dedicated to the Mother Bird herself, Free Republic. If you were wondering what happens to those little birds that fall or are kicked out of the FR nest (which I know you do not, but makes my play on words work); you might find some of them under the Free Republic Indexed forums over on The Conservative Voice.

..the question assumes it needs to be asked

No, besides being obvious; it was just a ploy to get disgruntled individuals to change forums. It is a statement guised as a question. The journalistic radio/tv pundits use it all the time to lead to the response they want. Think of it as the Chinese and their "American idea" piracy.

To generalize them together simply because they both have bashed FR is ridiculous.

They weigh heavy on FR bashing with ongoing forums of "chat". I am entering into "chat" at the moment myself which incidentally I try to stay away from on FR. It becomes just "Chat" when one focuses more on the bashing of individuals of a different mindset.

Those sites are heavily anti-Jim Robinson and anti-FR chat. Count the posts to the stories. Very easy to see. Not much substance and not much creativity of thought.

Also, the subject of illegals and our borders become redundant. Same story a different day. I don't give much credibility to ALIPAC and similar organizations, but a meeting place for those of the same mindset... Now, if we all thought alike..what a boring place this would be and we would all be right 100% of the time. See I don't mind being right only 95% of the time. Means I learned something today!

We may agree or disagree in part; however, the Hate some of us experienced here yesterday could be carried to a white supremacist org. Was not a liberal MO. Think the post was #260 (removed after a delay) Hate speech against certain individuals here with regard to Africian Americans, Hispanics, Jews, with reference to certain FR individuals . A sick graphic posted from an immature or sick mind. Did this person come from TCV or ALIPAC? Coincidence maybe...I can see how the Extreme Right would lean toward those sites..Pack mentality.

Seems like the same Dog and Pony show to me.

Have a good day..

People who agree don't fight over the issues.

True...but just because we fight certainly cannot mean that we're unbiased.

FreeRepublic is an advocacy website for conservatism. OF COURSE it's biased. Being biased is its reason for existing!

I'd settle for being 80% myself. lol

I'm a little more modest I guess.

I must have been asleep at the wheel, seems as thought I missed the controversy yesterday.

My guess it is just DU or Airheads trolling again.

That was a joke..esk. Unless of course Howlin is Arnold! What was it Clinton said?.."Because I can"? ;)

I guess I knew that but it was still fun to play along as if the plausible impossible had become reality.

I hope you will consider this and possibly do a more thorough check - I assure you it is deserved!

As far as I'm concerned, launching an attack against this forum is not a legitimate method of promoting their agenda against illegal immigration. There are far more constructive means of informing and persuading people to support their cause. And the beligerant tactics they've used only generate divisive hostilities. The heck with 'em.

As you can tell, I'm new here, too - and fairly new to blogging. But you can read my blog and know that I'm the real deal. I hope I find as warm a welcome here as I've received at ALIPAC. I'm looking for every place I can find where I can help.

Welcome to FreeRepublic!
I hope you find it as addictive as I have.
As you might be able to tell from my tagline, I'm a die-hard America First! Buchananite who has been here almost 7 years.

Others may have a different view regarding the brouhaha with ALIPAC, but from my own take on it, it's interwined in a feud that goes back about 5 years to the Y2K presidential campaigns. That's approximately the time that an article by Steve Sailer from VDARE was banned for racist content. I was a participant on that thread, and was one of the ones who requested that it be banned. Sailer responded with an attack against FR in an attempt to justify his bigotted screeds.

When William Gheen wrote his hitpiece against FR, VDARE was one of the fringe sites he chose to defend. As far as I'm concerned, that discredited anything else that he had to say.

As you might imagine, there's a LOT more to the story over a five year period. But from my humble perspective, that's it in a nutshell. As a staunch Buchananite, I strongly oppose illegal immigration. But I will NOT side with those crapweasels who attack this forum to "promote" their agenda.

A lot of ALIPAC's founding members were core supporters of Vernon Robinson's campaign. Therefore it does not suprise me that their tactics are so vile.

Their leader, Gheen is really causing trouble for himself after attacking so many fine conservatives. He attacked Free Republic because Jim Robinson would not allow posts about the fringe group Minuteman Project here.

He does show up in some news threads spouting his anti-immigrant hate.

ClintonBeGone has helped me a great deal and told me how to get in touch with El Pueblo and their lobbyist in North Carolina. They support our President's guest worker program and are having to deal with problems from Gheen and ALIPAC.

I don't know much about this guy Tabor but I'll look into it.

I consider chat, where one is more into the "just talk" mode and adds nothing to the conversation. I think there is a section of FR where one can just talk about things unrelated to the subject here at hand..its just more chit chat between FReepers. Therefore I meant, I try to stick to the subject at hand and "avoid personal attacks, talking about my dog ;), my summer vacation, ;) etc or he said, she said on someother thread blah blah" type scenario.

I learn more from those that comment, than what is in the story at hand. There is a vast amount of knowledge on FR that you do not get on other sites of this kind.
