The Democrats loathe Christians yet their attempting to appeal to them at the same time. Jesus spoke about keeping the Commandments but I'm sure the Democrats won't be mentioning them during their campaign of deception.

Let's see what Mr. "I hate Republicans and everything they stand for" has to say about what Jesus spoke of when he said,

Matthew 5:21“You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘Do not murder,[a] and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.’ 22But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother without cause will be subject to judgment.

27“You have heard that it was said, ‘Do not commit adultery.’[e] 28But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. 30And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.

43“You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that?

So I'm waiting on Mr. Dean to explain that. I'm not holding my breath.

[ "Jesus taught to help the least among us. He spent his life reaching out to the disenfranchised. The Democratic Party is the party of that value, not the Republican Party." ]

Socialism is slavery by government, and the democrat party is the party of socialism..
Nothing, nobody, is more disenfranchised than a slave..
Howie is tootin his saxaphone at the wrong end again.. takes BIG lips to do that..

I'd spank you, but you'd probably like it!

P.S. Scripture also never said "God helps those who help themselves" either....but don't tell Oprah....she'll never believe you.

I am sorry. I didn't intend to embarrass you. I only meant to inform.

No, not at all -- I am very glad you pointed it out. I am chagrined that I made the mistake, not because you and Annie caught it.

Assuming Dean isn't that stupid, perhaps he isn't really trying to win over the Christian on the right. Which of them is going to fall for all that fakery?

I'm guessing that he's mostly trying to stop the bleeding of votes. I think he's just trying to sooth the Christians who are slow to realize that the D Party doesn't really represent them. I suppose the same goes for gun owners still on the left.

Oh well, I tried.

I guess this just confirms how their rhetoric is used to win over minorities, the poor, and other groups they have no intention of uplifting.

As wise as that saying is, it doesn't come from Jesus. I think it's Confucius.

I think the term "pretty low" describes Dean....and most in the D party as well.

That is a possibility, I suppose. I know some of them still exist, because every now and then you get some nut writing an opus in the gun magazines. That and, of course, they still have Jim Wallis out there as a so-called leftist evangelical.

I don't think there's a tourniquet tight enough to stop the bleeding at this point, particularly when you consider the folks who got Dean where he is and the sorts of pseudo-intellectual elitists who now control the funding of the Deomcratic Party. The exit of Dick Gephardt signaled the official death of the role of Unions in leftist politics. Sure, they're still out there, but they aren't in the inner circle because they can't muster the votes when the time counts.

Out here in Cowboyland, we still have a few miners left who still believe in the D party, but they're FDR Democrats and they're, well, dying off.

Your comments are interesting, and I think it is plausible. I just think he's the political equivalent of the Maginot Line at this point...fighting yesterday's war. On the plus side, he still shoots off his mouth enough to provide plenty of fundraising fodder and lots of material for Talk Shows.

Jesus: Give a man a fish, and you feed him a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime.

Funny. I seem to remember Jesus giving men a fish, and telling them to consider the lilies of the field, which neither spin nor reap. Ah well.

Anyway, I think he got the cliche wrong, It is supposed to go "Give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all summer."

Yes, I have been repeatedly publicly and privately chastised for my mistake in attributing that quote to Jesus. Again, I apologize for allowing my ignorance to show.
