I've been pinching myself for the last 24 hours. On April 1st as Pope JPII was dying, Cardinal Ratzinger was receiving a Benedictine award...Olivetan in pectore all these years.
Things are gonna shake rattle & roll in figurative and literal ways.
By the way, St. Benedict spent 3 years living in a cave while the Goths & Visigoths and such sacked Rome. Freeper Askel5 has a good "reheated" thread about him.
Many of the Pope thread I had pinged you to, were talking about the "Olive" meaning maybe a hispanic cardinal and we breathed a collective sigh of relief until I heard the name he had chosen!
- the Olivetons were St. Benedict's order
-"De Gloria Olivae/From the Glory of the Olives: The Order of Saint Benedict has claimed that this pope will come from their ranks. Saint Benedict himself prophesied that before the end of the world his Order, known also as the Olivetans, will triumphantly lead the Catholic Church in its fight against evil."
