LOL.
I'm picturing a Lily Tomlin type CAIR phone operator whose computer spits out bells and whistles when the words "middle" and "eastern" pop up in google alerts.
Lily then, quickly ~snort~ calls the ACLU ~snort~ and the articles are cleansed of their ~snort~ descriptions.
(Course, you're probably too young to remember what I'm envisioning. LOL)
Laughing...
One ringy dingy....
Tomorrow in history - April 16
On April 16, 1947, the French ship Grandcamp blew up at the harbor in Texas City, Texas; another ship, the Highflyer, exploded the following day. The blasts and resulting fires killed 576 people.
(We've talked about this explosion on TM before when the BASF guard was shot in Freeport)
2004 One year ago: Videotape broadcast on the Arab TV station Al-Jazeera showed Army Pvt. 1st Class Keith M. Maupin, abducted during an attack on a fuel truck convoy near Baghdad a week earlier. (Arab television reported June 29, 2004, that Maupin had been killed; he is listed as missing by the U.S. military.)
***Still praying for Pvt. Maupin***
Rowan and Martin's Laugh In. My parents never missed the show. I still laugh at the Halloween gag with the vampire sporting a huge stake in the heart and singing, "Peg O' My Heart". Certainly more entertaining than "Guy and Ralna" singing a duet on Lawrence Welk's show. I still admire Henry Questa's clarinet performances.
