I agree - reparations as it has been recently foisted upon the nation has tied the wrongs of slavery to the shortcomings of the American Negro. There is only one instance where reparations would be proper... when a surviving former slave comes forward with his/her claims.
Until then, it's just a shakedown targetted against Whites - some of whom to be sure may be descended from slave-owners, but who themselves are not responsible for what happened over 150 years ago.
The most telling - and universally absent from reparations discussions - factor: If reparations seeks to put a value on the damage from slavery, what price the blood of 600,000 who fought and died in our Civil War?

Since the democratic party has profited from racism, and the democratic party is now shown to be held liable, then why not get some of that money back? It is only in scholarship funds. It wouldn't be a 'get rich quick scheme'.

*** In an effort to impede and or deny African Americans the same constitutional rights afforded to all American citizens, the Democratic Party established a pattern of practice of promoting, supporting, sponsoring and financing racially bias entertainment, education, legislation, litigations, and terrorist organizations from 1792 to 1962, and continued certain practices up to 2002. **
Dynamite information! (And elsewhere in the article too!)

Hey, I agree with you all.....I'm not for reparations either.... but I dont see this as a reparations issue. If you read over the complaint it appears clear that what we are dealing with is on ongoing criminal enterprise with multiple subcomponents engaged in multiple related criminal acts.
This clearly should be prosecuted under RICO. The party should be striped of their assets and the ringleaders imprisoned for whatever amount of time it takes for them to be rehabilitated.
Hey we can all dream.

It wouldn't be a 'get rich quick scheme'.One could argue that the Democrats have been using the Federal Government to give some of the money back over the past several decades. Of course one could respond that a good deal of that money, however well intended, led to further injury to black Americans by supporting programs that have had negative net results.

I didn't think of that.
I'm still thrilled with what the Reverend managed to accomplish. And I think he lent a good kick in arse to J. Jackson and A. Sharpton with this too. (throw in M. Rivers also)

Terrific!
Mr. Perryman sure has made his point.
I'm not in favor of reparations, but the threat of it directed at the true perps (Dems) is a hoot.

His charge, as written, puts the entire political spectrum into chaos. That would include jailing the likes of Jesse Jackson, Sharpton, Rangel, Waters, etc. etc. for advancing crimes on a national basis through a political party, backed by the MSM, advanced through various times that they ran the respective governments tricling down to taxpayers and voters. The logical way to prevent that would be to pass legislation throwing out all "reparations" lawsuits. And that IMHO would be a good effect.
