McCain Says He Will Vote With Democrats on Filibuster Issue
MSNBC ^ | 4-14-2005

Posted on 04/14/2005 2:18:38 PM PDT by kingattax

This afternoon in a preview for tonight's Hardball on MSNBC at 7 EDT, Arizona Senator John McCain told host Chris Matthews that he will vote with the Democrats against exercising the so-called "nuclear option" to prevent the Democrats from using a filibuster stopping a floor vote on judicial nominees.

McCain said that he wanted to remind Republicans that some day there would be a "liberal president and a Democrat-controlled senate" and there would be no way for Republicans to stop the appointment of liberal judges as his reason for how he will vote.

Your nickname for McCain is apt. He is unbalanced.

I've seen him in person and when the camera is not on him, it's evident to everyone watching.

A Democrat votes with the Democrats. Nothing unusual here.

In a related development, Washington Redskins Coach Joe Gibbs said that next season he won't run the play that his current team can execute the best.

After all, if he runs that play, the opposition will see it and MIGHT use the same play in a later season when they have the same strengths.

Then I'm sure his sidekick Hagel will vote with the Dems too. Who are the other defectors? Chafee, Snowe, Spectre?

I love defeatest, minority minded Republicans. They have know idea how to yield power. And to think, this guy wants to be President. I wonder if he had something to do with the UN's vote to outlaw nuclear terrorism.

I saw him at the airport in Phoenix once. It’s not obvious when he’s on TV, but he’s a runt.

Nor should there be. It's wrong for both parties to filibuster judges.

Well, does anybody wonder why Frist is reluctant to go with this option now? Like herding cats to keep these goobers in line.
