OK will someone patient explain to me what is meant by filibuster here
in Canada a filibuster is when the opposition parties keep yakking without a break debating a piece of legislation, they will go 24 hours a day for a few days
under our rules, you can make a motion to close the debate, when there is a majority government, they let the opposition yak for a while, then they close the debate and take a vote.....
now is this what is going on or is the Senate just plain refusing to vote on recommending this judge or that judge
so the nuclear option is something akin to our motion to close the debate?
crikey what's the big deal, seems to me you should be have limits on debate or nothing ever gets bloody accomplished,
the people voted in the majority party, the minority party has no right to obstruct them in the business of government and my understanding is there is nothing allowing this filibuster stuff in the case of judicial appointments anyway....
