MINUTEMEN MULLING HILLARY INVITE (YIKES!!!)
NewsMax ^ | 4/13/05

The lead organizer for the border patrol group the Minutemen said Tuesday that he wants to invite New York Sen. Hillary Clinton to come to the Arizona-Mexico border this month to review their operation, which has so far netted the arrests of more than 300 illegal immigrants.

"We're thinking of inviting Hillary Clinton," Minuteman founder James Gilchrist told ABC Radio host Sean Hannity, adding that he'd already looked into flight arrangements to Arizona for the former first lady and could provide appropriate security.

Gilchrist's decision to invite Clinton was likely prompted by her tough comments on border security - remarks that place her sharply to the right of the Bush administration on the issue.

"I am, you know, adamantly against illegal immigrants," she announced in Feb. 2003 radio interview, adding that "people have to stop employing illegal immigrants."

"I mean, come up to Westchester, go to Suffolk and Nassau counties," Clinton railed. "Stand on the street corners in Brooklyn or the Bronx; you're going to see loads of people waiting to get picked up to go do yard work and construction work and domestic work."

"Clearly, we have to make some tough decisions as a country," the top Democrat urged.

In comments last November, the likely 2008 presidential nominee blasted the Bush administration for turning a blind eye to the problems at the border.

"I don't think that we have protected our borders or our ports or provided our first responders with the resources they need, so we can do more and we can do better," Clinton told the Fox News Channel.

"There's technology now available," she noted. "There are some advanced radar systems. There are biometric and other kinds of identification systems that we've been very slow to deploy and unwilling to spend money on."

Gilchrist said his patrol operation is open to Clinton and anyone else who wants to review its progress, explaining, "When I first launched this in October I insisted that we have open season for all law enforcement to come in and do whatever they want - and the same with the media."

And he pointed out the obvious political benefit for any politician who wants to lend support, noting, "For every [Minuteman] down here we've probably got a hundred thousand supporters across the country."

Gilchrist said the Minutemen have already helped round up scores of illegals.

"About 300," he told Hannity. "And about 40 of those were from an aerial observer who was up six hours yesterday in his aircraft."

Leave it to the Democrats to turn the tables on us and make us do exactly what they did to each other in 2004. Eat our own! That is exactly what Hillary is going to do to us and she knows exactly where to start - immigration!

Maybe they think the illegals will take Hillary back to Mexico with them. Worth the risk, I'd say.

your delusional.....Hillary is a POS.....and a dangerous POS at that....but if inviting her to the party, gets some wuss republican senators off their fat arses then so be it.....THE TIME TO CLOSE THE BORDERS WAS RIGHT AFTER 9/11 WHY THE F**K ARE THEY STILL OPEN????

Please don't fill me with your platatudes regarding the race or nationality of these fine folks south of the border....that is not the issue and any one with half a brain knows that...the issue is that the friggin borders are leaking not only Mexicans, but also Islamic terrorists, Chinese nationals and central american drug cartel scum....and none of that is racial either...it is what it is...an invasion.

If anything, it will embarrass conservatives, not Hillary. I suspect that if she keeps up on this illegal immigration tack, she might win a few Freeper votes!

It's definitely getting interesting.

I doubt anyone does believe it but if we can use her to rattle the cages of the GOP so much the better.

Brilliant move. It would make the GOP and its head executive get off center and do something about our borders. The public is getting sick and tired of the spineless, self-serving GOP leadership

Psst, mikey maximus, hillary ain't going to touch your heroes the minutemen with a 10 foot pole.

After April 30th, no one is going to care, but you all will be chanting on FR the jesse jackson slogan of hillary of "keep hope alive", even though she ain't going to touch the minutemen(and their issue) with a 10 foot pole.

Good!

The more exposure the issue of illegals gets, the better.

GW sure isn't going to do anything.

If inviting Hillary and allowing her to make it a main platform for her election, so be it. She has done more to raise the issue than anyone else, except Tancrado and Sensenbrenner.

[Interesting that the 'deal' the Pubbies made with Sensenbrenner, begging him to hold off until after the election and until the new Congressional session, got canned in the new session.]

Actually, that isn't true in parts of Brooklyn anymore. They don't have to stand on street corners. They can go to Ceasar's Bay where there is a big tent waiting for them so they can hang out there. For some reason, even though this was a major deal when they put it there, it has escaped the notice of INS.
