Ladies and gentlemen, I got an e-mail from a friend last night advising me of the passing of that great feminazi Andrea Dworkin and this note came to me saying, "I never heard of this woman." I said, "Well, maybe I better tell people about Andrea Dworkin today," because I first heard of Andrea Dworkin when I was out in Sacramento. I was there from 1984 to 1988, and sometime during that period, probably 1986, Andrea Dworkin came to town to lecture a bunch of local (sigh) feminists about her beliefs on feminism and the Sacramento Bee, a well-known left-wing rag, good only for lining the cage of your bird or the litter box of your cat, decided to run this lofty profile of Andrea Dworkin complete with photo. Now, I hate to mention this, folks, but you want to know who she was. She was about 400 pounds and when she went out to eat she had to take up two chairs and two tables, and they published a picture. That's the only reason I know it. They published a picture of her eating somewhere at a restaurant before her lecture, and (shuddering). I mean if there ever was a stereotype of a feminist, she made it come to life.
Now, the radical feminists today are mourning the loss of author Andrea Dworkin. She assumed room temperature last weekend. "Press accounts of her passing away note that she considered pornography a civil rights violation against women," nothing wrong with that. "In 1983, Dworkin helped draft an Indianapolis law allowing women to sue porno producers and distributors in civil court and it was upheld by the Supreme Court," and this is what is being written about her today, how great she was, but, my friends, that doesn't provide a full view of the great body -- a-hem -- of work provided by Andrea Dworkin. So as my own tribute to this great peon of the feminist movement I want to pass along some of Andrea Dworkin's quotes to you. Have you ever heard of her, Dawn? You're a woman. You're a woman that would have come of age during Andrea Dworkin's reign of profound influence over America. That's another woman who never heard of her yet she rates a bio all over the place. Okay, again, my tribute, I want to pass along some quotes from Andrea Dworkin.
Regarding freedom, Andrea Dworkin said, "Only when manhood is dead, and it will perish, when those who ravaged femininity no longer sustains it, only then will we know what it is to be free." In other words: As long as men live, women are slaves. That's one quote from Ms. Dworkin. Here's another. "Marriage," she claimed, "is an institution developed from rape as a practice." Now, where have we heard this? This is ringing some bells. This is ringing some chimes, ladies and gentlemen. It seems to me that there was another great feminist, a law professor or some professor at Michigan, right, and her name was Catharine MacKinnon, I assume it still is, although I read she met a man, fell in love, and is really confused now. Yeah, there was a story about her. She lives with some guy, or did. Years and years and years and years and years and years and years ago, don't know that the guy may be dead by now, but Catharine MacKinnon said that all sex is rape, including the sex in marriage. Have you found that to be true, Dawn? Dawn? Well, another woman here that just does not accept the teachings here of Catharine MacKinnon and Andrea Dworkin. Andrea Dworkin said is an institution developed from rape as a practice that's what we get with marriage, and then there's more. She said, "Rape originally defined as abduction, became marriage by capture. Marriage meant the taking was to extend in time to be not only used but possessed or owned."
So for all of you women who are married according to the great Andrea Dworkin -- the late great -- Andrea Dworkin you're just being raped every day. What your husbands did in marrying you was to legitimize rape so they can rape you any time they want under the legality of marriage. It's called sex or making love in some quarters, but to Andrea Dworkin it was just the institutionalizing of rape and marriage as the same thing. On economics, Andrea Dworkin said, "Money speaks, but it speaks with a male voice." Apparently she never heard of Bergdorf Goodman! She never heard of Bloomingdale's! She never heard of Crate & Barrel. I guess she never went to the mall. I guess she never heard of Tiffany. And now this last one, "Men know everything, all of them, all the time, no matter how stupid or inexperienced or arrogant or ignorant they are." I don't know if this should be classified as a radical feminist view or a universal view of men held by a larger number of women. "Men know everything, all of them, all the time, no matter how stupid or inexperienced or arrogant or ignorant they are." Her only confusion was, or is, this radical feminist viewpoint to think this or is it a universal view of men held by a large number of women? Probably the latter. The obituary said that Andrea Dworkin "is survived by a husband." No. No. She is survived by a kidnapping, slave-holding rapist.
(Denny Crane: "Sometimes you can only look for answers from God and failing that... and Fox News".)
And yet, some men DO treat women badly, and some women LET it happen.
She was married, but as I understand it, it was a very unconventional marriage. I think I also read that she used to be a prostitute, but I'm not sure about that.
I pity anyone who has views such as hers. And she was hailed as this great feminist.
Can I be the only one who noticed Rush calling other people fat?
I was listening(as per...).El Rushbo REALLY got it right!!I was just listening to"Savage".He predicted that he would ECLIPSE our beloved El Rushbo.Dream on,Mr. Savage!!!!
There is INTENSE pain in those eyes....
(Denny Crane: "Sometimes you can only look for answers from God and failing that... and Fox News".)
Rush was quite the hefty guy back in the day. But considering Dworkin's weight he was a toothpick at his worst.
Historically speaking, most cultures have traces of marriage as based in capture, and presumably rape of the abductee.
One arguable origin of the wedding ring is as a miniturized version of the shackles used on the woman being abducted.
The historical background is there. To bring these historical facts into today's world and try to use them to somehow invalidate the institution that provides the most protection for women and children is utterly repugnant.
And Hillary did NOTHING to stop him. There's your cowardly Feminist, standing firm as Jell-o for your equal rights.
=======
Hey... quit "pickin" on Hillary.
Kick her ugly fat ass instead !!! ;-))
I think he only calls other fat people "fat."
Nooooo, he wasn't calling her fat. He was stating what he SAW PRINTED IN THE SACRAMENTO BEE NEWSPAPER.
MY EYEBALLS ARE BLEEDING! MAKE IT STOP!
I can't find my favorite image of MIZZ. Dworkin in overhalls but this [ http://www.fathersforlife.org/per/images/dwork.jpg ] might give the reader some idea of the size - think refrigerator. The world will be a lot poorer without her insights. On the other hand, poor people will probably have more to eat.
Careful there, microphone. You're awfully close to the suction.
