Some time ago there was a post here about an active volcano in Alaska. The site referenced there had links to a couple of webcams in Alaska, one of which presented this picture earlier today. Of course, if you look now, that picture no longer has the red glow of the sunrise that made me go, "Wow!" when I looked at it. (It's sort of neat to be able to see what's going on in Alaska while sitting at my kitchen table in NJ.)

We lived in Anchorage and Eagle River for 8 years. For a while, we lived very near Turnagain Park. The sunsets over the inlet during the summer were fabulous every evening. The clouds turned shades of purple fading to orange, outlined with gold. It was unbelievable. It happened every evening. Alaska is an undescribably beautiful, wonderful place.
I hate sunrises. Why? Well, you know. You'll just be sitting there, minding your own business, and they'll come marching in and crawl up your leg and start biting the inside of your a&& and you'll be all like: "Hey, get out of my a&&, you stupid sunrises!"
We spent 3 years in Anchorage and you are right, the sunrises and sunsets are indescribable. The Chugach Mountains were visible from my living room window and I spent many an enjoyable hour watching the Dall sheep through binoculars.
Laz is this really you?????
