Help Needed! Anti-Americanism in schools alert!! The Syracuse Peace Council is being allowed a presence on career day to counter the military recruiters at the event. This is dead wrong! Help us pressure the school officials to do the right thing!

Please contact the administrators at Jamesville-Dewitt High School, inform them of your displeasure with their decision to allow a political, anti-American group (they call themselves "counter-recruiters") to disseminate information with the intent of countering the efforts of military recruiters at this career day event. Since the event is a career day event, please stress that the Peace Council is not an employer, thus have no purpose at the event except to cast a negative light on the American military. Since when is it acceptable to allow such a group on campus to embarrass and undermine another guest? What kind of message does that send? What happened to respect for others? I've seen the literature the Peace Council will hand out, it's full of lies and distortions, such as the military fosters and atmosphere conducive to rape, where they claim one in three women are raped! This is outrageous and unacceptable.
If they are allowed to be present, why can't the Republican Party and other political groups have equal access as well? The school may argue that this is student driven, but keep in mind, students are not employers and have no business disseminating political information at a career day event. Let's put some pressure on these administrators, tell them to do the right thing and not allow the Peace Council into the school. This is just not right. Career Day is a time honored tradition where students are provided the opportunity to gather information themsleves so THEY can choose what kind of career they would like to have. Let's keep this event politics free.

From the "Peace" Council:
Youth and Militarism The Youth and Militarism Task Force, coordinated by SPC, continues to move forward. The Task Force has an engaging agenda for the next few months. Fourteen people attended the first session of a Draft Information Workshop to train people to assist in outreach work.
Outreach has begun to schools to book presentations about the issues facing young people regarding military recruiting, the draft and draft registration. To help us arrange presentations at schools, community centers, faith community youth groups, etc., contact Kelsey at SPC or [antioch@peacecouncil.net]. (Kelsey may also be the student organizer at J-D...there current newsletter lists her/him as the contact for the J-D event this Wednesday)

Man, it's not enough that the Left has complete access to the minds of government school enrollees all the other days of the school year?

You know, I'm beginning to think the best way to fight these people may be through their tax status. Most of these groups list themselves as having a tax status to allow a tax deduction. When I have checked out the United for Peace and Justice reports it looks like most of the money is spent on protest expenses. This is not charity.
I don't see a report listed on the Syracuse Peace councils website. Asking about their expenses and tax status through the correct channels before they are allowed in schools for non charitable events may be a way to stop this kind of garbage.

Sounds like the council is under control of OBL & Zarcowardly.

Good idea. Someone needs to replace Rachel Corrie.
That's sounds a little harsh, but thats what the peacenik appeasement crowd would have for all of us if they would get their way.
To: Jon Alvarez
They are working around the loss by diverting funds. From their own website on the contribute page.
To make a tax deductible contribution to support educational programs of the Peace Council, make out your check to the AJ Muste Institute, write "SPC" in the memo line and send it to the above address.

"Syracuse Peace Council"
There are no "peace organizations" -- they're all just single-party state advocates who are all in favor of the violent (or silent) overthrow of democracies worldwide. Time to go after them, after their funding sources, after their supporters, using nonviolent means.
