We can't allow the liberals to win -- they are pulling out all the stops, because they know that the judiciary has become more powerful than Congress and the President, and they want to keep it that way.
Terri PING
There is no rift.
This is just the Boston Globe desperation and wishful thinking.
The only division is in the democrat party. They were the only ones who were and ARE split.
I agree. Frist needs to have a fire lit under him, but it's much too soon to start getting angry at Bush.
But give it another month without any action, and I think Bush will deserve some heat, too.
"There is no rift. "
Have you been reading the posts on the Terri threads?
There were quite a few passionate people here who wanted Terri dead.
I can understand those (myself included) who were passionate about keeping her alive and noticing the monstrous injustice that is being perpetrated, but I never could understand the passion of those who wanted her dead.

Ok, I think the Bush boys should have done more, and acted sooner. That doesn't mean I'll vote for a Democrat. I doubt anyone who really values life would.
I think we should put the blame where it really belongs. Micheal Shiavo. If that POS didn't want his wife, he should have given control to the parents. There is really no one else to blame, he had the "ace" up his sleeve by staying married to her, he could have just walked away.
Yes, but MS couldn't have finished killing her, without Judge Greer and the rest of the judiciary going along with it.
The law is supposed to be there to protect the innocent and those unable to protect themselves, instead of helping the murderers commit their crime "legally".
Also note, that Judge Greer didn't just "allow" MS to pull the tube, he specificaly ordered, then reemphasized that Terri be given NO food or water by any means.
Well said.
My first thought after seeing the source was, "Didn't I just read a post about the Boston Glob mis-reporting on the Big Dig?"
Facts are of no concern. It's the story that counts.
When one stops to look at the 'Rat party - really look and listen - the various splits / factions are obvious. And fun to watch.

"Ok, I think the Bush boys should have done more, and acted sooner. That doesn't mean I'll vote for a Democrat."
I agree with both of your statements.
It's just that some people direct all their anger towards them, and nothing against the judges who are the real guilty people here.
This article is a bunch of agenda-driven crap to rally the Left's troops. I would expect nothing less from the Boston Glob.
This is the leftists' Schadenfreude, and our Schadentraurigkeit.
This is just the Boston Globe desperation and wishful thinking.

So typical of the MSM == they INVENT THE NEWS T-H-E-Y WANT TO HEAR.
"There is no rift."
Nah, there will always be a bit of a rift between social conservatives and libertarian types. Unfortunately for the lefties, we're pretty good about working around this rift.
I have been reading the threads, but i take them with a grain of salt given the number of trolls because of the topic.
Terri is not going to cause a "split" because even after the death, republicans still agree on the same enemies.
Honest debate on FR is not equal to a "split" for the GOP. It is not like we are democrats or something.
Mae Magouirk safe for now. See Tekgnosis for further details.
Tell the Media to report the REAL Schiavo polls!

And .. this is the second message I have seen today from the Boston Globe making comments about a fractured or divided republican party.
Perhaps it would help the GLOBE if they would turn around and look at the democrat party that is REALLY fracturing right down the middle.
On one side we have the Clinton cabal - in full swing to moderate the party's stands on everything from the war to abortion. It's not that they have changed their minds on these issues - quite the contrary - it's more about "what can we say to fool the public today".
On the other side we have the Kennedy/Kerry/Dean cabal - anti-war cabal. This is the group to which MoveOn has attached itself - and several people like Byrd have given them legitimacy. While Kennedy is supporting Kerry for the nomination (again), the MoveOn people want Dean. Dean has supposedly signed an agreement that he will not run in 2008 - but I hope nobody is holding their breath.
Either group is frightening .. but they must stick together or they cannot possibly win any elections. And .. with the defections from the blacks, Jewish and Hispanic camps, they might be in more trouble than they realize.
Hillary may do well with her NY senate seat - because NY is basically in her camp - but the rest of the country is fed up with NE liberals.
Somehow the Globe is only concerned with spreading the false stories that the republicans are in trouble - WE'RE NOT - WE'RE MORE UNITED THAN EVER BEFORE - AND THAT'S WHAT THE GLOBE HATES.
Don't fall for this stuff from Globe - they are WRONG!

Frist is kidding himself if he thinks he has a chance at being the Republican candidate in '08, and his above statement certainly didn't help his cause.
