SEATTLE (AP) -- The state Supreme Court on Thursday announced a two-year suspension for a lawyer caught having jailhouse sex with a triple-murder defendant she was representing.
Theresa Olson's suspension begins Friday; she must undergo a psychological evaluation before she can be reinstated.
Earlier, Olson and the state Bar Association had agreed to a one-year suspension, but the high court rejected the bar's recommendation.
In 2002, guards outside a King County Jail conference room saw Olson with her dress pulled up and her client, Sebastian Burns, standing behind her with his pants down. At the time of the encounter, Olson was 43 and married; Burns was 26.
Olson was removed from the case, and Burns was given new counsel. He was convicted last year, along with a friend, of beating the friend's sister and parents to death at their Bellevue home in 1994.
Olson's lawyer, David Allen, did not immediately return a call seeking comment after business hours Thursday.

Lawyers protecting lawyers. When do you see non-lawyers getting off so easily?

Who is the victim here? Who was forced to do something against their will? The lawyer in this case is awfully stupid but it is still legal to be stupid. If the Lawyers union, the bar, does not want hee in their union, so be it. A sitting Judges should not be settling union politics, while charging the taxpayers for their time.

I just don't understand what the problem is here?
Clients frequently get screwed by their attorneys. And for this woman she received some pleasure during the process. Most screwings by attorneys is non-consensual.
To: Mrs Mark
I don't know the rules, but I suspect physical contact with a 3 time killer is a no-no. Just a hunch.
I am surprised the lawyer who did the boinking, as twisted as she is, has not figured out that her defense could be a "client - attorney confidentiality" violation by those who turned her in for going bottoms up.

Bill Clinton owns the record. I think Wilt Chamberlain or Magic Johnson (now we know why his name is what it is) is 2nd.

In a Pacific Northwest prison, she probably looks like a "10.5".

It's unethical for a lawyer to have sex with a client. Abuse of trust.

Sanders argued that the term "sexual relations" refers only to male-female vaginal intercourse and cited a dictionary definition of "coitus." Oh, yes.

I wonder how they define homosexuality since it seems that by their definition of sex it wouldn't be sex.
