Teresa Heinz Kerry this week challenged about 250 doctors and scientists to help Americans "connect the dots" between environmental pollution and rising cancer rates.
Her remarks in an opening address for a conference on health and the environment included a barbed reference to "the belligerent indifference of our leaders in Washington toward environmental health issues." She urged the group to continue studying the causes of drastically increased rates of breast and prostate cancers and childhood leukemia.
Heinz Kerry appeared calm and comfortable even though her speech at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center-Shadyside was interrupted several times and finally cut short because of problems with the TelePrompTer and the sound system.
As her speech progressed in fits and starts, Heinz Kerry demonstrated a knowledge of the impact of toxins on humans and marine life.

Gin soaked raisins.....that's the answer.
Bovine flatulence is responsible for so much ozone depletion, so why not start by shutting your trap?
This newspaper must have missed the memo - she dropped the Kerry.
"demostrated a knowledge of the impact of toxins on humans and marine life."
And the "reporter" knows this because?......
Everyone keeps living longer and longer, year after year but somehow everything is killing us.
As WFB Jr. used to say, "why does baloney reject the grinder?" Maybe the prompter and sound system had just had enuff and up'n quit on 'er.
1: Shut down the Heinz factories.
2: Get the Heinz-Kerry's to shut their traps.
I think the author was mocking Teresa with this statement. A speech proceeding "in fits and starts"? Sounds like the reporter was politely implying that Teresa was high or drunk. And the stuff about her demonstrating her knowledge sounds similar to what one would say about a chicken that can count.
And an expert on nothing.
IMO, T H Kerry is walking pollution herself. Can we take steps to solve this?
I see the date on the pic is 2/28/01. My, the wonders of science, huh?
Because she talked about her marriage to Kerry and its effects on humans and marine life.
Why doesn't she get her Eurotrash friends to use deodorant. That would reduce toxic pollution.
