Prayers for TexasCowboy!
TexasCowboy has been using his hip injury as an excuse to prevent his friends from shooting his new riot gun.
Well some of us offered to take a look at it for him and he decided both a proffesional and sober opinion might make more sense.
So he found a coupon and now he is going to let some old saw-bones cut on him.
Probably a better idea than letting us do it, but a few folks feelings are still hurt!
Please all say a prayer for our Cowboy that he is back in the saddle again real soon.
Mine's in his racing silks, behind SeaGo Sue. Or maybe he's trapping muskrats or beaver, hunting ducks or pheasants, or perhaps just bleaching a chicken for the up coming Pearly Gates Chicken Show. Then he'll have a couple of beers.
Then again, he might be taking the cull chickens or pigeons to the old couple down the street who don't have enough to eat.
Dad is gone, but Mom is not only still with us, she's visiting me, for her great granddaughter's Christening, and is in the next room as I type this.
Squantos just reported this on another thread...
Perhaps when verified a new thread will be posted.
It's true, sir.
I heard too. I am going to post a new thread.
Tears.
I got the call this afternoon from Tom Eaker who's off base on travel.......
Prayers for El Roy, his family and friends.....he made many here.
I am just so very sad.
Sorry Tom....thought ya were still on the road......Stay safe !
Goodbye, TC
I read today of your passing, good luck Cowboy, where ever you are. I'm glad the pain is over.
You were one of a kind, and I thank God that I lived to see the amazing light that shown from out of you, Texas Cowboy. We are blessed...
Texas Cowboy will always be COB1 to me. I wish I had a chance to meet him face to face.
Thank you, feiney!
THAT pleasure will be all mine!
He was a true gentleman and joy to be around.
One of those rare people for whom life did not present problems, merely challenges.
I'll miss him.
Wow, that is how fast time flies. It was a few months after that when he mentioned coming to LA to visit his daughter. We were going to try to meet for dinner or a drink, but he wasn't able to on that visit. I guess it was my loss. I wish I had known he was so close while going through this treatment....I would have visited him. But, I did not even see this thread until last week. Well, I am sure I saw it, but didn't put "Texas Cowboy" together with "COB1" so it didn't register.
I showed his photo to my man last night & he said the same thing I did when I first saw El Roy.
HE LOOKS LIKE JAMES COBURN!!!
Still miss ya fella. I hope you're doing well and getting used to your new digs. It sure isn't the same here without you. Sort of left a hole here. I know you're busy and doing what you do best. You keep on keeping on and I'll stay here doing what I do. Till later then.
Well it's December now and we're working on Christmas. A good time to reflect and remember those we love who are not close enough to hug personally. Remembering you fondly TC.
Tomorrow we remember the attack on Pearl Harbor. I can just imagine the posts you would write. Tell Dix and the Chief hi for me ok? And anyone else you run into that I know. Funny visual...all FReeper Angles hanging out with the flag and some signs cheering us on day by day. Bet you got your boots on. ;-) Hugs till later my friend.
Well another week has come and gone and come again. Amazing how time flies.
