Posted on 04/08/2005 2:01:14 PM PDT by MJY1288

President Bush and the First Lady attended the "majestic" funeral for Pope John Paul II today in Rome. The President and the First Lady, as well as, Poppy Bush are heading for the Ranch as I'm typing this. The President spoke to the Press Pool on the way back from Rome.. It is a must read, I will post a link to the interview

Thank you so much for posting these incredibly poignant photos!

Additionally, thank you for posting the link to the President's AF1 press conference.

The President's heartfelt insights into matters of faith and morality remind me once again why I love and respect him so. QUITE SIMPLY, PRESIDENT GEORGE W BUSH IS A GOOD AND GODLY MAN!!! We are blessed to have him as our president during these challenging times!

THey were talking about how GPII would circle the Piazza in the popemobile two or three times so every one could see him. I've noticed how he would use the third person... the Pope this, the pope that, John Paul II the other thing... but I think it meant he knew people wanted to see THE POPE, it wasn't Karol Wotyla, the humble priest, it was Pope John Paul Seconda, not acting a role exactly, but playing the part God had called him to play... representing Christ to US. But don't freak, Protestants, every priest is supposed to do that.

I posted the following factoids on another thread today . . . I thought some of you might want to save the information of current/future reference:

Freeper Post:
". . . a 60K vote swing in Ohio would have made Kerry president."

My Response:
You just parroted a classic Democrat talking point; how very John Kerry of you (oops)!

THE FACTS:
Despite unprecedented attempts by the VAST LEFT WING CONSPIRACY* (primarily funded by 5 billionaires), the President did win re-election by a 'landslide' -- with margins that I predicted over 1 1/2 years ago:

POPULAR VOTE
51% Bush +3,012,497
48% Kerry
01% Other
[Bush was the first candidate to win the presidency with over 50% of the vote since 1988! Funny, I don't recall people pontificating about the 'closeness' of the 1996 election , an election in which Clinton only garnered 49% of the vote.]

STATES
31 (61%) Bush
20 (39%) Kerry
NOTE 1: Why not ask what would have happened had Bush garnered a mere 5,700 more votes in Wisconsin -- had he done this, Ohio would have been moot [BTW: Given the amount of voter fraud that investigators are currently discovering in WI, Bush might yet win this state!]
NOTE 2: Of the top 10 states with the smallest margins of victory, Kerry won 6 (60%) . . . hmmmmmmmmmmm, it seems as though it was Kerry NOT Bush holding on by the 'skin of his obnoxiously whitened teeth'!]

COUNTIES
2,530 (81%) Bush
0,583 (19%) Kerry
[NOTE: It's not RED or BLUE states; it's red or blue COUNTIES!]

CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICTS
206 (68%) Bush
098 (32%) Kerry

'NUF SAID!

I thought President Bush's answers to the reporters questions were a window into the faith of George W. Bush.

How about Pippi Longstockings?

I never read that one, for some reason. I know it's supposed to be very good.

FYI: I posted the following comments on another 'irrelevant poll' thread:

[Why we consume ourselves with polls is beyond me. As many of us have stated MULTIPLE TIMES, the only poll that counted was conducted on November 2, 2004.]

In this article, the President evaluates the current state of polling perfectly:

"Some of them were going up the other day," he responded as he flew back from Rome on Air Force One. "You can find them going up and you can find them going down. You can pretty much find what you want in polls is my point."

CASE IN POINT: Let's use as an example the last time the AP 'need I say more'/Ipsos Reid poll posted similar results:

2/7-9/05 45% approve 54% disapprove AP/IPSOS
2/4-6/05 57% approve 40% disapprove GALLUP/USATODAY
2/8-9/05 51% approve 43% disapprove FOXNEWS

Given the current state of agenda driven/media influenced/methodologically flawed polls and the pollsters who conduct them, at any given point in time, you can find a poll that says anything you want it to say!!!!

Fortunately, we elected a President that doesn't govern based on polls!

Night all!

Thank you, one and all, for the many excellent book suggestions. I've saved them to a Word document and will use this list extensively. If you think of others, please let me know.

I was wondering...I know Laura says she wont tell us Bush fans what her and George's 'pillow talks' are about and share info like that and what she tells him and stuff, and I respect that! But, I kinda in a way wish she did. Am I the only freak who wishes that?
