Yahoo, White House

Posted on 04/08/2005 2:01:14 PM PDT by MJY1288

President Bush and the First Lady attended the "majestic" funeral for Pope John Paul II today in Rome. The President and the First Lady, as well as, Poppy Bush are heading for the Ranch as I'm typing this. The President spoke to the Press Pool on the way back from Rome.. It is a must read, I will post a link to the interview

W didn't wear sunglasses and wouldn't...no matter what. I wear contacts, too. Sunglasses, like chewing gum, are inappropriate.

Yes looking at the photo again I think I was being a little over generous to say that he is soley moving out of the way to allow Laura to lean over and as several have said it is very telling that he has his hands in his lap.

W and Laura don't share the same pair of eyes and brain receptors for visual images, or tear ducts. I don't know why she wore them. For me it is no big deal.

I'm not HIDING, I'm UNPACKING. And sweeping up dirt--the wind is blowing about 40 mph.

skip a few days and look how you all talk about me . . . :-)

You DO NOT want to go back and read the last few weeks of the Dose then. Spare yourself the agony, the humiliation, the pain!

Just kidding! You know I understand.

Gene Stratton Porter

My most favorite book of all (childhood) time - perhaps a shrink could say what that tells about me. I just found a paperback copy on the sale table at my local library - scooped it up and asked the librarian why in the world they would want to withdraw it from the library. She gave me a look of total incomprehension, so I guessed she has never read it.

It is for me...so I guess it's a draw.

Aw, now I just feel *too* special!

I was so excited when my "mail sorter" came in and handed me the envelope--I didn't expect it so soon :-)

There are 3 pics up on yahoo of them home. Laura changed into a nice purple top and black pants. Glad they are home safely!

The pic of Laura holding onto Dubya's arm so tight is so cute! Thanks for posting it.

I hope you didn't take offense; if so, I apologize. I could as easily have written, "I wanted to do sumthin to provoke you to reply."

How do you feel about crutches? I understand Kerry needed them in order to attend. ;^)

Some people cannot sit in the sun without a shade of some sort - due to eye sensitivity. It is not an affectation or comfort as would be the chewing gum that you mentioned, but a medical necessity.

You know that Laura Bush always looks very well dressed and groomed, so she must have needed to cover her eyes, because she surely is not wearing them to imitate Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.

I'll add my sentiments to that. Who would have thought that a Presidential press conference on AF1 would become a wonderfully inspiring, humble testament of a man's simple but genuine faith in God.

Quick has anyone here seen sharktales? I rented it for the kids and realized I don't know anything about it. Are there any words in it I will cringe about? Thanks!

Several names were suggested for the nesting duck. The best was 'Duck Cheney.' LOL.

Make way for ducklings.

I think in someways it would be better if our Ministers just ran their own departments and did not have to worry about their constituencies as well. How can a Prime Minister have time to sort out problems in Sedgely when he has a country to run or Brown worry about Scottish issues when he is Chancellor of the whole of the United Kingdom; there must be a conflict of interest at times and the bottom line is that their Constituents cannot be properly represented.
