I'll be very glad when she arrives home safely - this is driving me nuts! She is due in tomorrow night. Can't imagine how messed up air traffic is going to be. Bet your friend never imagined she'd be caught up in all of this! Hope she arrives home safely, and quickly for the sake of your nerves.

Fox is a joke. They're not a serious news organization anymore. Nice while it lasted, I suppose.

Careful, you'll be sent to the FR re-education camps to have blind worship of Fox re-instilled.

We are talking about thugs with nothing left to lose. So yes I believe they might attempt something like that.

Bet your friend never imagined she'd be caught up in all of this!We asked her a week before she left if she had thought about the Pope dying while she was there, never really thinking it would happen.
She's barely been out of our state before, let along overseas.
I can't wait to hear about her trip!

Yeah...that reminds me of The Grid and how one of the Muslim terrorists was a blonde haired, blue eyed, American-Chechan kid. There are a lot of Muslims from the Caucasus regions.

Ok, everyone hear the update? No bomb, it was an Italian businessman coming to Rome. Must have figured the airspace was opened again since he waited until after the Funeral. There was a communication issue. The jet did divert when confronted. Whew. There must have been a lot of scurrying around.
Better safe than sorry. I am glad they reacted. Even though it was a "false alarm" I am also glad it hit the news. Being on alert never hurts.

Italian military jets have intercepted a plane flying over the capital Rome where world leaders had gathered for the funeral of Pope John Paul II. Two F-16s forced the aircraft - heading to the city's Ciampino airport - towards a local airport, Italian news agencies said.
There might have been a bomb on the plane, intelligence and military sources said.
A massive security operation has been under way all day around the capital.

Awaiting your reply with bated breath....

Fox reported that Bush is already aboard Air Force One and it's airborne with USAF fighter jet escorts.
