"This dominance has caused it to inhabit a cultural echo chamber where the only interlocutor it really has to speak to (and answer to) is itself. Consequently, it has grown intellectually lazy and reaches for the most convenient epithet before it ever thinks about an argument."

Odd how some of the greatest empires are built on grim foundations: the Hittites, Greece, Rome, the Huns [and their Mongol descendants], Portugal, Spain, and the Brits. We should also marvel for a moment at the achievements of the Vikings and Normans, barbarians from Ice and Fog.

You look at the lands of plenty, where fruit trees abound, where great rivers simply beg for rich farms, and there you don't see the greatness found from the strangest of places.

It looks the same regarding GOP versus DNC. FReegards....

A very skilful skewering of the left by Horowitz, with a disappointing but not unexpected performance by Berube.

No kidding. Berube embarrassed himself with that last reply.

Thanks for the ping, Buford. I don't often do it (not enough time), but I read the whole article rather than just skimming through it for highlights.

Also, I have found Discover the Network to be a great source to direct media to for "educational purposes." I'm still waiting for a reply from Jon R. Anderson, the author of the puff piece on Code Pink in Stars and Stripes last week. I hope that means the guy is doing the research I suggested, which he should have done before he lauded the old, leftist broads in Code Pink.
