Don't bother. These militant smokers are too busy lecturing everyone else how we're all going to die anyway.
Smoking cigarettes is the dumbest thing anyone can do. It robs you of your quality of life and steals precious years from time that could be enjoyed with the grand kids.
My grandparents all smoked into their 90's. My mother died of lung cancer at 47. She never smoked, drank or was overweight. I don't smoke either.
Listen, lots of things in life are dumb! For instance: I would never have unprotected sex. I am not gay. I never physically abused anyone. I'm a lover not a fighter.

No, we don't "lecture" those of you about smoking. We lecture yes, when "those of you" trash and bash us because we enjoy a LEGAL product.

I quit smoking a long time ago.
And smoking is an unnatural and dangerous activity, which may well some day be the death of me even though I quit.
Still, tobacco is wonderful stuff.

I agree with that statement -- I think smoking is just plain dumb. I had a teacher in 4th grade that took a dollar bill, lit it, and told our class that this was a cigarette burning. Made a huge impact on me that smoking equaled burning money -- never have smoked and hate being around people who do. Was very happy when they outlawed smoking on airplanes -- always ended up seated next to a smoker.
This is too bad about Peter Jennings -- maybe at least one young person will wake up and decide to not start smoking or quit.
While I wouldn't say THE dumbest, it's certainly high on the list. Even from an early age, I never understood the logic behind taking a bunch of dried leaves, rolling them in paper, setting fire to them, and then breathing in the smoke. Heck, in structure fires, what kills people more than the flames, themselves, is smoke inhalation. So to deliberately inflect smoke inhalation on yourself seems, at best, peculiar.
