n Eagan man's conservative blog has become the talk of Canada, where a publication ban left many people hungry for news of a government scandal.
Edward Morrissey, 42, began posting allegations of corruption in the Canadian Liberal Party late Saturday on his Captain's Quarters blog, a web log, which he runs as a hobby. It defies a ban, instituted by a federal judge, Justice John Gomery, that severely limits what Canadians can publish about the investigation into allegations of money laundering and kickbacks in a government program from the 1990s. The scandal dominated national politics for a year and led to the Liberals losing their majority in the House of Commons in June.

This afternoon, Apr 7,
OTTAWA (CP) - The House of Commons erupted in an uproar minutes after Justice John Gomery lifted a ban on publication of testimony at the sponsorship inquiry he's hearing in Montreal.
Conservative Deputy Leader Peter MacKay said the evidence, under a publication ban since last week, shows the Liberals are involved in a "criminal conspiracy," the likes of which Canada has never seen.
Justice John Gomery decided Thursday at 2 p.m. ET to partially lift a ban on the release of advertising executive Jean Brault's testimony at the federal inquiry.
Minute later during question period in the House, MacKay said the testimony shows Paul Martin's office, when Martin was finance minister, was directly involved in the sponsorship program.
But Deputy Prime Minister Anne McLellan called the allegations against Martin, "absolutely untrue."
Ping. Spread the word....
Is this going to be Canada's Watergate?...........
Need to update it for Canookistan:
Icegate.
I hope so.
Probably not. Canadian are too timid and subserviant to demand a resignation. Canadians are followers by nature. I even predict the Conservative Party won't get a majority in Ontario even with this.
Think I should start a ping list?
You might inquire of the repeat posters on the threads. I don't need to be on one (it took me sometime to get off of a bunch of them). FYI, Freeper "backhoe" added a keyword "ADSCAM" which, when clicked, brings up all of the articles with that keyword. Thus, put that keyword in the articles for easy reference. Gotta get going, have a good envening....
Thanks.
There's more conservatives here in Eagan, MN? I thought this town was full of Euphorians!
